Class one drivers wanted. £10.71 an hour

Scandalous. I work for the same company but 20 miles from there and my basic is £3 an hour more. I wonder if the Toyota lads are in a union? I doubt it somehow. Meanwhile in Hoyer world they are offering this beauty….

The tone of that letter really gets my back up. Written like they are doing YOU some sort of favour by TEMPORARILY increasing your bonus (note: not your pay) but only if 3000 different conditions are met, and we can and will end it at any time we want, a week’s notice is all you’ll get.

How about you go [zb] yourself, Joel Griffin? I hope all the Hoyer drivers leave and go work on the agency for big bucks where their efforts will be appreciated.

It does humour me, as an agency driver in a hoyer uniform, it does feel, ‘just out of reach’.
Ah well, we’ll see how the contract negotiations go next season.

Had a double decker pass me last night with a big advert on back door…. Nationwide immediate start, up to £160/day…… no names from me but from what I’ve read here before, they purchased a load of old Stobart reefers

up to £160 per day” = 15hrs = £10.67/hr. I’ll pass. Maybe they forgot to remove the stickers they put there 20+ years ago?

Ive been offered £16 flat and £24 aftrer 8hrs today on what is basically a 60hr week so £1120,its a job ive done before 4 years ago for which i got £660 so things are improving.

Why are you still basing your wages on 60 hours per week? Get the conditions right as well as the money,

Its a distance trunk it takes min 11hrs to do the job sometimes quite a bit more, they love a night road closure this time of year, so it is was it is,they were quite happy for ad hoc shifts aswell given the level of desperation so i could base it on 4 shifts 48hrs and £896.I was just trying to show the difference between 4 years ago and now, then it was£11 flat no OT and you HAD to do 5 shifts.

What l mean is its not just money, the conditions of the job should be improved, you should be no where near your max. on a night or day trunk, worrying if your 15 mins behind because of delays and unloading in your breaks to do the job in your hours ( not that l suggest your doing that ) Haulage really needs some 70s union organisation.

Odly enough DCPCFML does exactly this, he is run ragged daily, dazzles other road users with his upside down light for weeks on end as no time to get it fixed then tips on breaks and tries to get home on a JIT basis and he thinks he is on a good thing. :open_mouth:

I think you’re getting me confused with… yourself ? Not sure where you’ve got this idea that I run “ragged” ? If I do over 40 hours a week I’ve been delayed or stitched up somewhere. Usually about 35 hours. Now once again, please remind us who it was that’s running bent, driving for 10.5 hours :open_mouth: and complaining that there wasn’t enough hours in the day to get your job done before parking up in a ■■■■■■■■■■■ layby to sleep in your tin box only to do it all again the next day?

At least try to get your facts straight before trying to look clever on the internet otherwise you end up making a [zb] of yourself, although you seem to achieve this by default regardless of any facts.

The irony of this comment.
