Hello just recently passed my class 2 and cpc looking for a job around northwest preferably Liverpool St. Helens Wigan Warrington areas. Anyone on here around these areas and was in same position when they passed there class 2 can point me in direction of jobs or company’s that will give me a chance many thanks
Beaver did class 2 for Canute up that way

Yep Canute have class 2’s, but only a few. I drove class 1 and 2 for them. But your best bet is Palmer and Harvey in Haydock. If you pay them a visit clutching your shiny licence, within about 30 seconds you will probably be sent out with a delivery, lol.
I don’t know which agencies they use now because it was 18 months ago I left there. It’s hard graft, but it’s a way into the game and excellent for building up experience and reversing practice. I worked there for 12 months, it was my first LGV gig.
Thanks for the info. If you think of anymore places let me know
Many of the advertised jobs on reed, universal jobmatch website want experience usually around 1-2 years. Agencies are flooded with applications from newly passed drivers, its not an easy place to find Class 2 work without experience. Theres more class 1 work around. Warrington is one of the highest areas in the UK for people on benefits. Best advice to new lads is check the local job sites and always speak to agencys about work for new drivers before you think about training. For those taking out a loan you don’t want to be stuck paying off a debt for something you cant find work in.
It be be a bit far for you to travel , but, Fagan & Whalley in Padiham will always consider new drivers.
Good luck.

Bit too far mate for me but thanks for the heads up about that place
Brakes are advertising on there career site for class 2 drivers at omega park in Warrington. They seem to take on new passes. Also wincanton are advertising for class 2 drivers at B@Q in Preston Brook. Worth applying for. If any company says 2 years experience required. Just ignore that and apply anyway

You know anyone who has worked for either of them companies ? What it’s like ?
Booths in Preston are advertising for Class 1 and 2 drivers - no mention of requiring experience in the advert and i know that they have driver trainers to work with the new recruits when they start.
You can apply here recruitment.booths.co.uk
I work for brakes in Warrington I’ll be very honest here.
Start times around 5am you may if you’re lucky get a regular round anywhere between 13-20 drops a day some quick and easy some can take a hour or so handball upstairs down stairs can be very very bad at times. The frozen food you have to pick it can be a nightmare and air will be blue when you can’t find something.
It is job and knock so you can get the odd Early day but not often.
There are all round CCTV one in the cab and they watch you like a hawk eat not wear seat belt touch you’re phone even drink and you’re done.
Saying that the pay is 28500 and they do give new drivers a chance I started as a new pass and if you play the game do 6 months at brakes then you can go anywhere.
Personly I passed class 1 and I’m looking for that. So good one to use as a stepping stone with descent pay.

That’s another place on my list of “never to work for” then.
Hi ontrack, if you have anything going can you give me a shout or pm. I live in eccles not far from Warrington just down the A57 still looking for my first full time job although I have started a bit of agency work from tomorrow. I’m a chef in my other job so have good knowledge of the food needing to be picked.

B&M at Middlewich are definitely setting on. My mate is one of the trainers/assesors there, spoke to him yesterday morning.

Just plenty of Mullets!
They do run rigids as they have some right PITA stores to get into. Also, and I can ask Rich when I next speak to him, with all this “driver training” malarkey they’re up to, they might be prepared to stump up for your class 1

It’s a little bit of a trek for commuting but If the salaries alright I would be interested. Is it worth me contacting anyone in particular or could you pass on my details?
