Class 2 18 tonner

After a week of my Daf XF breaking down the fitters have told me that it’s going to take a week for my unit to be repaired,

My TM has told me that next week il be in an 18 tonner saying it will be an easy week for me.

What should I expect being a class 2 driver for a week.

Depends, will you be multi-dropping?

It has a steering wheel likely pedals and a gear stick, if your lucky
it’s just smaller, as said depending on your load and if you self load.
Much the same rules but when reversing turn the wheel the other way

Being treated like scum by us class1 drivers, not getting flashed in and generally feeling totally inferior to us.

Does it matter? Have you asked TM (he will know) You’re a driver and get paid to drive, just drive :unamused:

At every delivery point, tea wagon and filling station you will mention the fact that you “usually drive an artic”.

That’s how I feel most of the time. Just cause I drive a 7.5t + 3.5t trailer doesn’t mean I’m not a class 1 driver.

Dam so true

As long as the pay is the same, just drive the thing.

Right on Dave, you and me would jump at the chance, if only we could! To the OP, you will probably never want to get in an artic ever again…

Pete.

I’ve noticed that. :unamused:

Turning the steering wheel. And turning it. And turning it. And heading towards the wall at the other side of the road because it needs a weeks written notice and the same amount of room as an oil tanker to make a left hand turn.

Steering lock, they’ve heard of it, they just don’t have any.
