Sadly for you Tesco are about the only ones in Reading doing class1 day work, except maybe K&N and M&S at Thatcham. Most other jobs are either multi drop class 2, or away all week class1. QTR are at Greenham now but I don’t think the money is that great.

Ken

Yeah it’s starting to look that way. I mean, Tesco is good but I just want something a bit more fulfilling. There’s a lot of snotty nosed Tesco drivers that literally won’t even make eye contact with you for being on agency. It ■■■■■■ me off.
End of the day it’s easy work but you are just a number not valued at all.
Thanks for the reply.

Why let some snotty nosed FTW’s ■■■■ you off ?

**** em !

I just find it pathetic

[zb] that !

You don’t like the idea of starting before 8?
Don’t want nights out, don’t want multi drop and don’t fancy dray work?
Let me guess you’re looking for £50k a year too?

Good luck…

I would and have started before 8
I’ve done night shift in the past and no I don’t want to live my life in a lorry and I don’t have to.
Yes I do fancy dray (day) work.
I don’t expect 50k no, I’m not stupid but clearly you’re a knob. Jog on.

I really don’t. I never said I wanted a 9 till 5. What’s with the bitterness

No bitterness from my end, but you’re right I am a knob and freely admit it.

But what I was trying to point out is that your aspirations within this industry fairly unrealistic. The job is often dead early starts for one. And I have to say wanting your own motor on days is quite an ask

No problem, I’m not here to upset anybody.
I take your point on board.
I have done very early starts but changed to later to fit the needs of the business.

It would appear to me that appreciate having a good work/life balance and in honesty mate, I don’t think you’ll get much better in that respect than supermarket work, which you’re doing now. I’m afraid that the majority of other class 1 jobs are likely to incur longer hours, which may or may not bother you, unplanned nights out.

I hope you find what you’re looking for.

Obviously I don’t want to say that you’re not going to find what you’re after, but it’s been my experience that it’s terribly difficult to find the balance in this industry.

I know a few lads who left tesco coz they got bored, a few months down the line and they’ve regretted leaving, it ain’t the best job in the world but it’s also not the worst, you’ve already said you get left alone to do the job, you go somewhere else and after the 6th phon call from the office asking why you’re late somewhere you’ll be wishing you’re back at tesco. i get it if you e had enough of agency work, I done 3 years of it before tesco and wouldn’t wanna go back to it now, especially an agency like TRG

Very true mate, hence why many drivers just accept that job is as it is and get on with it. I decided to tramp because spending an hour a day commuting with reduced rests were killing me.

Same here I left home Monday morning 5:20 am and apart from one night at depot I wont be home till tomorrow night
