Lol, though it might be, hows it going mate?.
I spoke to Michelle today and they quoted me £541 to retake my test. That’s for 2 hours training, 1 hour warm up before the test, hire of the truck for the test and the test fee itself. Seriuosly considering it while it’s all still fresh in my mind. :grimacing:

Saw your username and wondered too!
Not going too bad. I think you should redo it. You were doing really well. Any idea if that class 2 lad passed ?

I will be retaking, but car broke down and I had to spend the money on that. Have you had any class ! work?
I might have a class 2 job back at my old firm lined up after xmas. Back on nights, but also back on the road and not sat at a desk
Don’t know if the class 2 lad past or not, but I hope he did.

Hi Bill.
Yes, on with my current employer since early October.
Mixture of artic & wag&drag with demountable bodies (1 on the unit, 2 on the trailer).
When you get time to retake your Class 1, I’d suggest taking the whole course again.
Yes, more cost, but the cost above is around half the course cost, but for only a few hours  so would make sense to pay the extra and get loads of extra time to drive and reverse.
Oh, and that test reverse , means **** all in the real world, so try and get them to let you back on to a bay every now and then.

All the best.

Place where I’m doing my class 2 training, they charge £700 for class 1 training including test fees. Don’t quote me but I’m sure at least 12 hours training is required?

the test reverse is just to demonstrate that you can go backwards using both locks of the steering. Or so I heard.

Jeez, there’s a massive North/South divide with this!

That would cost £280 here, 2x 2 hour lesson @£80 and £120 test.

Even at £100 for a 2 hour lesson, that’d only be £320.

The £541 you’ve been quoted, it’s £120 for the test (DFT fee, same everywhere I believe), so a 2 hour sesh must cost £210 !!!

That sounds like an awful lot. I’ve just paid £265 for my class 2 retest, that’s for use of the truck etc on test and I get an hour before hand too. I’m in the North west.

Glad to hear things are going well for you and that you’re putting new skills to good use.
You are right about doing the full course again as I think it will be hard to retake the test with just a few hours refresher. It will be another few months before I have the cash and, by then, 6 months would have passed.
I’ll let you know how I get on.
In the meantime, have a geat xmas and a happy new year.

I put myself through class1 9 months back cost me £800 that’s was for 5 x 1 hour lessons and test …
