Class 1 Test on Monday (PASSED!)

Hi Guys,

Ive been trying to signup for a while now after having a good read but there were a few problems but nothing that Rikki Couldnt solve!

Ive got my Class 1 on Monday morning in Gloucester. This is my 2nd attempt as i failed last saturday because i went through some lights on amber - Examiner thought i had time to stop, i disagree but he’s the one that qualified to decide this!

Hope i pass it this time! Quite Nervous now though! :stuck_out_tongue:

Cheers
Jas

jas07 good luck with your test on Monday, just think of your last test as a practice so at least this time you’ll know what to expect.
regards derek

yeh, good luck on monday, i had my class 2 yesterday in Purfleet and failed, so i know what your going through, i failed on observation at a roundabout, a case of i thought i had plenty of time to move off and the examiner did,nt. hopefully ive got a retest next friday.

Yer cheers mate, the annoying part is, my instructor said that of all people i was about as much as a sure pass as you can say! Oh well like you say just gotta hope for the best this time!

The only thing that worrys me slightly is the fact that ive been out of the truck all week and then jump in it on monday and have a test!!

Yer its so gutting when you fail aint it! The amount of time the examiner’s think you need to get out of an island is unreal! Still, i suppose they know best… :unamused: Good luck for next Friday mate! No matter what anyone says, there is an eliment of luck in it on the day!

Good luck.

Got my Cat C on Tuesday. Let us know how you do.

What school are you training with are would you recommend them

I spent the last year testing out of Gloucester and know the test roads very well
I was responsible for getting the left turn fron London Road into Bruton Way taken off the CE test routes due to the way a 16.5 metre artic HAD to do it - needed to be completely in the forward/right turn lane to turn left and examiners wanted the lanes equally split which could only be done with a short trailer artic so the examiners said - too dangerous for a trainee on test to cope with and took it off the artic route. It is the set of lights where the left turn filter comes on about 2 minutes before the forward/right lane light and the 16.5 metre artic had to have the right lane clear to do the left turn :exclamation: :exclamation:

good luck for monday mate,

just remember to take deep breathe’s and stay calm, get the pass then go and get ■■■■■■■■ in a pub somewhere.

what time is your test?

Hi Rog, thanks for the welcome! like i said ive been having a read around the forum before i registered and ive read alot of your posts, they’re very helpful thanks alot for it all!
Ive been training with Top Gear in halesowen (Midlands) and i cant praise them enough, all the instructors ive had (Did my class 2 there as well) have been really top notch, they explain thing really well and best of all, whilst we were out training we had such a good laugh whilst learning at the same time. IMO thats about the best training you can get!
I passed my class 2 first time with only 1 minor so i was very pleased with my level of training.

To say i was gutted when i failed my class 1 was an understatement! However i think due to the fact that im only 22 worked to my disadvantage a little, but who knows eh? Just hope i get it on Monday!

Gib - Thanks for the kind words matey, i was quite nervous the first time but managed to calm my self down quite alot before my test so i just hope i can do this again!

My test is at 11:30am i think, we’re leaving Top Gear at 9:30am and it takes about an hour to get down there so that works out about right. So if you hear nothing from me for a while after monday you’ll know its bad news!

Thanks all for the warm welcome! Really looking forward to making some friends on here, you all seem like a decent bunch! Ive always wanted to do my HGV ever since i was about 12-14 so im living a dream really, which makes it that bit more gutting when i failed. But still, heads up and try again on monday!! :sunglasses:

best of luck mate, like everybody else has said just take your time and concentrate and you will get it no probs.

The Nerves are starting now!!! :open_mouth:

Good luck mate. Be cool yeah.

Good luck m8, stay calm and you’ll be fine

hope so, thing is last time i thought id passed and ended up failing so im dreading it now :stuck_out_tongue:

Good to see yr staying positive :unamused: Snap out of it man. We’ve all been there. I almost burst into tears in front of the examiner cos i was scared witless, and he knew it. He asked if i was ok and if there was anything he could do to ease my stress. So we chatted cos it was the only thing to keep me from falling to pieces.

Lol, i know mate, im just a bit worried because ive not been in the truck for over a week (although this doesnt bother me driving wise, it does proceedure wise. Just worried ill forget something) and then going straight into a test.

Ive had a couple of pints of Guinness to try and help me sleep tonight cos last time i didnt sleep a wink!

Thanks for helpin guys! <3 xxxxx

Well hopefully you’ll get half an hour at least to drive round gloucester before the test to get you back into the swing, 1hour down the motorway doesn’t really help much.

Not been through gloucester in the truck myself but have been through Cheltenham, don’t know if that’s a test route but it struck me as a not so nice place to do a test, some really quite tight junctions and lots of filter lanes that need considerate planning, impatient local traffic, heavy parking on roads etc and loads of cyclists…

I PASSED WITH ONLY 5 MINORS!!

Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement from everyone on here guys really appriciate it!

Im on Cloud 9 at the minute!!!

There you go ya big jessie. Told ya you’d be fine. What do you mean only 5 minors? Almost half way to a fail!

Just pulling yr leg mate, well done and good luck for the future.

Congrats. Well done.
