CJ Pryor gone bust

CJ Pryor from Harlow have called in the administrators this morning.
They run a fleet of tippers and are involved in earth moving and civil engineering projects too.
All staff have been sent home and they are hoping to find a buyer.
Rumours have been flying round for the last couple of weeks that they were in trouble.

Long established Company.

My ole man always told me not to become a lorry driver, he wanted me to get a job at Priors on the earth movers when i was about to leave school, I never listened of course and became a lorry driver like him.
Sad to hear the administrators are in

Rumour is its the civil engineering side that’s had problems and the administrators think at least some of the business can be saved.
Been going since Adam was a boy.
Sad news.

blimey-shocked to hear that

There’ll be more to follow. Too many firms moving stuff for silly money. There’re firms like Quattro and some crowd who run ex Mitchell trucks running muck from up London way all the way back to Shipton on Cherwell.
On top of the rate cutting, you’ve got the money wasting nonsense like Euro 6, FORS bs, EPIC courses etc.

And £1,500 getting a little window fitted into the passenger door because cyclists without an ounce of road sense are allowed to ride around London without any training whatsoever. From what I read today in Commercial Motor you won’t be allowed to drive in London after March 2016 if you haven’t had the conversion done.

Thats interesting Harry, could you elaborate please?

My guv’ner certainly wont stick his hand in his pocket to fit those, depending on that article, it could mean the end of me having to drive in that screwed up place for good!

There’ll be a lot of bargain priced Scanias on the market soon.

+1. Please, please, please tell me that that is true! The armchair anarchist in me loves the idea of the potential carnage that will cause.

Clocs which is another quango like fors is getting members to put a windows in the n/s door quite a few new tippers have them.
Scania will sell you a p cab door with one fitted for 1295 plus vat.
Another pointless thing which hauliers have to join as the main contractors won’t let them on site.
You see some tippers with so many stickers on for fors clocs the rha wrap which is a recycling thing cycle warnings etc you will need a 50 yd body to fit them on before long.
Tge

The whole thing is a joke you have to pay to join fors it’s about 500 a year for up to three trucks I’m sure my boss said they pay about 5k a year for the fleet of about 50.
If you are compliant with your o licence you should be doing what they want anyway but one haulier who was awarded fors gold went on to have there o licence suspended at the same time.
More box ticking to keep Unemployable morons in work. But with everything in transport you do all this and they still want you to work for crap rates.
Before you moan about London it’s going nationwide

They won “Tip-Ex Haulier of the Year” sometime in the last few years according to the stickers plastered all over them. 2014 I think. Just goes to show a sticker doesn’t mean a whole hell of a lot…

Trouble is the industry just supports all these crap initiatives. EPIC cards, NVQs, CSCS cards…
When I passed my plant tickets in '98 I could drive various plant. I got a job as a plant op in a Smiths quarry and the EPIC bloke said my tickets weren’t valid in the pit. I could drive a shovel, dumptruck, excavator etc on hire but permanently in a pit required retesting. An utter con. Even more of a joke when you see the “standards” of some shovel drivers.

Think there going to run about 20 staff and hope someone buys them

Rumour has it the haulage side was doing ok it was problems on the earth mover side that has caused the problem

Rumour is lynch and mick George are intrested but my bet is the current directors will buy back the viable operations in the group.

who was it down Cornwall ran tippers with inward dropping walls making them flats , dont see many multi used tippers anymore
