Think there going to run about 20 staff and hope someone buys them

Rumour is lynch and mick George are intrested but my bet is the current directors will buy back the viable operations in the group.

If Lynch get it then flip flops will be part of the uniform.

Think you’ve got it bang on there can’t see it being a good fit with Liam Llynch and a bit out of the Mick George comfort zone, btw have you seen the “dustcart” cab 8 wheel tippers/mixers for London work as yet? total pants!

I haven’t seen them but I wondered when or if we’d see the Merc Econic in tipper form. All stems from this obsession with drivers being on the same level as cyclists. The designers don’t realise that tippers do need to go off road however, around here the tips have to have special bays for the dustcarts as they too easily damaged to drive onto a tip themselves.

They are used by LaFarge/Tarmac “guys” to deliver “good stuff” from LaFarge/Tarmac sites into central London, so no need for off road kit…

The guy driving it didn’t look very happy…

It’s time the aggregate/concrete or any other firms operating in London stood up for themselves either they get paid extra, a lot extra for operating these crap vehicles that would be banned from site as useless anywhere else and have no resale value at the end of life!, have recently returned from US/Canada they seem to have no problem operating normal control trucks (plus a few weird forward control Macks) in their cities maybe Yank & Canuk cyclists(of which there are plenty) are a bit more savvy than the the average Brit Lycra clad hero’s

Seen the cemex one about. Be ok as long as it don’t go near a tip.
There’s a skip demo knocking about I spoke to a bloke driving it said it was ok but not sure if anyone has bought one.
I’ve seen a builders merchant with a hiab one too.
The big firms are falling over themselves to do all this rather than tell the mayor to do one

I can see the walk though cab being a great benefit (would be a good urban multi dropper) but do they have a proper auto gearbox or a typical torque converter one?
I remember Volvo having an FL about 12 years ago with an Allinson 'box that was gutless as.

Not sure if it’s a normal auto I’d imagine fuel consumption would be awful if it is

Seen one of their tippers out and about today, not that much in administration then!

Administrators are running it as a going concern for now

Start loading 18t on the trucks and booking 20. Hang on don’t we all do that?

nick2008:

Richards & Osborne (R&O). Was quite a fleet back in the day, by Cornish standards at least.

My first job in Swansea ran flatbeds with folding sides, to run palletised tinplate or coils to the customer, and scrap tinplate back to Llanelli. That’s about 23 years ago.

i had one of those trailers over 40 years ago , hoyner tipping trailer , of of those that went up on the rear wheels . fold the sides in for flat work or unfold them for bulk loads . there were a lot of them about back then , especially the scotch lads , they could reload anything for back home . dave
