Chuffin Foggy lights

Well blow me it was chuffin Foggy this morning NOT :imp:

But it still amazes me how many brain dead numptys still drive with their head and front FOG LIGHTS on…
The clue is in the name FOG lights FFS

TURN EM OFF

Rant over.

It’s never bothered me, and the new day running lights are brighter to be fair. Anyway, be safe be seen :grimacing:

The one eyed car with badly adjusted lights sitting on my arse. To be honest 9 times out of 10 not a problem but it’s that 1% at nights that buggers up your vision at night like the full beam no dippers

When I first saw the title I thought someone was going to have a go at Carl Foggy Fogarty. Good luck with that…
As for the numpty-lights, you could just feel smug that you’re so much more aware of your surroundings than they are of theirs…

Me too. Too much reading the CFN (Carl Fogarty News) every Wednesday back in the day.

Added lights now ok

There is something that pees me off more.
When you’re sitting in a queue at traffic lights, why does everyone have their foot on the foot brake?
Aren’t cars these days fitted with handbrakes?
Winds me up more when I’m in my car.
I turn the headlight leveller up and dazzle them back

Some could be autos Steve. My Touareg has stop start, foot on the brake automatically enables it.

Still no excuse, Auto’s do have a Park Brake and a “P” mode

Except citroen fit switch for the ■■■■ thing somewhere in the next county :imp: can’t reach the ■■■■ thing… then if I do stretch across… it takes 15 minutes to release…

If you are stopped behind a car and you can still see their brake lights you aint near enough, go to the back of the class !!

I agree switch them off. They are fog lamps and for that use only (although even then they are used when they should not be) Driving lights can be a distraction as well. Either all vehicles have them or none at all.
As for “be safe be seen” If you cannot see a car or anything else in day light without lights you should not be on the road. The problem is drivers do not look properly. :unamused:

Regarding autos and brake lights I was once told it is not good for the gearbox to keep putting it into park every time you stop. Hardly a problem though.

P is for parking as it mechanically locks the transmission up.

(Most) autos oddly enough do have a “N” for neutral as well.

Yes I realise that but that still means moving the stick/control everytime the vehicle stops which as I said apparently causes unecessary wear and tear.

Having brake lights on when a vehicle is stopped in stationary traffic hardly causes a problem though or am I missing something.

Well in bright daylight it isn’t a big problem. On a dark wet night I really don’t need someone burning my eyeballs out.

I usually put the handbrake on and shove it into N if waiting for more than a short time. No need to have the car fighting the brakes.
