I haven’t listened to Radio 1 for many years, basically because I don’t like the music; but what bit I have heard of Moyles made me think that he’s a pretty good presenter. I don’t see what the shape of him has to do with a radio programme.
I’ve been tuned to Radio 4 ever since Evans took over from Wogan; at first I’d switch over at 9.30 for Ken Bruce, then after putting up with Babblin’ Ball wittering on about her kids for a couple of days whilst Ken was on hols, Radio 4 stayed on permanently and nowadays I rarely re-tune. If it gets too dire, I switch over to Nation FM if I’m in the M4 corridor, or just switch off.
I was shocked when I heard him say he was off.
Will miss his show,definately my sense of humour and the tv programmes he mentions are from my era,will miss his humour and his entourage,hope he has a big reunion before the end of his shows with the likes of carrie coming back.
Nick Grimshaw is a poor replacement for him,I think I’m getting to old for radio 1 so I’ll have to find something else to listen too.
Personally I think after his appearance on stage in Jesus Christ superstar he’ll be off to the USA.
I have heard several of his shows and can take them or leave them, it is just when he comes on TV, he seems a bit gay and that isn’t me being homophobic. The bloke reminds me of a fat pervy uncle.
For me, he will never make the jump from radio 1 to radio 2 and will slither off to the office opening a few carnivals & supermarkets for local radio.

Listened to his speech this morning, amazing words, perfect song. Perfect team of people. Anyone who says ‘‘useless fat prick’’ and so on and so forth i already see there has been a few in this thread. You just dont get it, you’ve listened to a few shows but you just dont get it. Took me weeks and weeks to get used to their banter its not an acquired taste at all, people just see the stereo type and cast judgement on that. Doesn’t even feel like a radio show it feels like your friends who are just in the cab with you chatting away. When i set off every morning battling traffic, rude customers, brutal days etc it just cheers me up no end. There have been times when ive nearly ploughed my lorry into a ditch the team have made me laugh so much. Always hate it when they are on holiday cause my working day just feels harder without my friends. I know i sound sad but lorry driving is a lonely job and moyles and the team make it bearable.
What to do? I have no idea even if he comes back on radio 2 or capital it will never be the same. Its that electricity he has with his team that makes the show so good. I had a feeling all was not well the last few weeks especially he has been having digs at ben cooper for the song before 7 thing
Good luck to the fella he has given me 8 years of entertainment and has been with me for 100’s of thousands of kms. Grimmy is a good replacement, id take grimmy over scott mills and greg james all day long but it will never be as good. Dave will go and so will aled but maybe dom and tina might join grimmys show?

I agree with this totally. Apart from grimmy, hate the prick. I hate this new wave of T4 style dj’s, all so irritating. Moyles, along with Scott mills are the last of the decent generation of radio1 shows which started when mark and lard got the boot in my opinion, slowly been going downhill since then.

In response to whoever fawned over Moyles, his team laugh at him the same way those two hangers on do for Steve Wright; it keeps them in work. When Moyles finally shuts his face what music do they play? Chav crap or rap; some choice.
