Child seat in truck

saw a bit of a rare site today … Walking floor artic on a landfill site ,i pull up alongside it to tip , notice in the passenger seat a young child maybe about 3 or 4 years old in a child seat  .
I wonder if he/she will grow up wanting to be a truck driver ?
Mind you some landfill sites are enough to put anyone off for life  .

Anyone else seen any child seats in trucks ■■

p.s. The parent was definatly thinking of the child(ren) :unamused:

cheers Mike

Surprised the kid was allowed out in the truck, let alone on a landfill site, alot of companies dont even allow you to take the missus out.

Seen it a few times,
One passed me kid wanted was doing the blow the air horns sign

My daughter often was in the childs seat at about 3 year old when I was on the timber. The wife on the bunk ■■■■■■■■ it when off road! They used to go for a stroll while I loaded, then I’d pick them up on way back out!

I took my 3 year old daughter out for a few hours last week… She loved it but fell asleep between leaving Avonmouth and getting onto the M4

Not surprised, i almost fall asleep on the m4 its that much of a boring road!

I’ve took my eldest out In a child seat before…

Used to take my oldest girl in car seat nine years ago  my lads nearly 19 now and he’s been all round Europe with me since 1999 :sunglasses: but most firms now are a PITA :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: but it’ll bite them where it hurts, as they’re the FUTURE! :bulb:

I use to go trucking with my dad when I was a younger lad  when all over the place “uk and Europe”

5 years old doing international work

my 10 year old is old with me most school holidays. a week last time. nights out with me. have to hide him on the bunk sometimes at plants or strict sites.
im lucky. my boss doesn’t mind.

I often take my eldest out in a child seat. Like all kids he kicks up a bit initially when I’m fastening the straps, but once rolling he relaxes and makes all the brum brum noises. If we pass any of his friends though he gets a bit stressed in case they see him.

I always tell him that despite being 25 yr old and married he’ll always be Daddies little soldier.

not really sure i see the problem? better to have a child seat in and be secure than to have a child in running loose, i try and take my two out each year seperately of course - this is my eldest with me just less than two years ago when she was four,(its not a real phone by the way)

it was much easier then because i was on live haul and surprisingly there was no restrictions on children being in trucks at the factory - the hardest part was explaining to them what was happening to the ducks going into the machine! i told them they were there to be cleaned!!!

i think its important for them to be involved in what i do.

I used to take my son with me everywhere until he was about 15 and truck mad and then he just said one day that he didn’t want to go anymore. His words were 'Dad that’s not a job fit for anyone and that was from a teenager :open_mouth:
He’s now a mechanic and earns more than me and spends every night in his own bed and socialises at weekends, things I need to plan for :imp: So in my eyes I’ve done him a favour

oh dear oh dear. Not be long till CSI trucknet has you hung for the crime of taking a photo whilst driving. Not enough thought for the children.

(my legal advice, for free, is…you were stationary and a bush ran by your window when you took the photo)

You might have stowed the ■■■■ bottle out of the way.

Spot on,i went everywhere with my dad as a kid, done me no harm my eldest sometimes comes with me and loves it

I used to love going all over the place with the old boy. I used to help load bricks from Marston Valley and could rope sheet and drive complete with reversing by the time I was about 10 or 11. Used to love staying in digs, the landladies always made a big fuss of us kids.

My 2 lads (3 & 4) would absolutely love to ride shotgun in a truck. One day when I eventually get driving I hope to be able to take them out. When I was doing my training they would always ask about the “big truck” and ask to see pictures of it. For months after any truck they saw on the road was “daddies big truck”
