Same mate. I have a pair of Oakley titanium polarised.
V expensive, but I can wear them all day and not even know I had them on.

if you can wear them all day and not know you’ve got them on…why don’t you save 200 quid and just not wear them?..

http://www.randolphusa.com/ For me, pricey yes but as said you only get one pair of eyes so give them the best.
Wahey, just procured a pair of Randolphs like these off ebay, very comfortable and aesthetically pleasing, but not road tested em as yet, hope theyre not too heavy on the bugle on long hauls.
Got them to replace my 3 yo Serrengetti Dantes, which i gradually ruined by not using cleaning fluid when cleaning the inside lens, even microscopic ammounts of grit on the cleaning cloth will remove the special u.v coatings, making them less effective,oh but they are/were magnificent. Now relegated to face furniture status alas
Got some never worn Ray Ban aviators, the ones with looped wire arms (presumably for wearing with helmets) and an ivory style bridge band, but i aint suited to this style so anyone interested.yours for 50 nicker, cost me 135,in more affluent times.
I often wish i could obtain some type of non-sunglasses for everyday usage but feel a bit silly wearing shades in non sunny situations, but i still get eye strain i guess from unaturally long periods behind the large windscreen, headaches fairly regularly.I had a pair of react to light specs made up recently (not cheap)to resolve this but not that impressed tbh.Are tinteds the way to go here?..blue,green.brown,any spec veterans out there?

Do you go to an optician regularly?
If not and you’re getting eye strain and headaches, I’d go and see an optician.

Yep eyes are in good nick,no issues medically,i suspect prolonged usage through the summer makes the corneas accustomed to the qualities of my serrengettis and the everyday non-sunny days situations, still throw in harsh glares that perhaps is why the headaches are a prob.Intuitively i suspect tinteds are the way forward but it could get rather expensive as they arent returnable if unsuitable.

Sounds familiar, I only started wearing sunglasses for driving when I kept getting headaches and eye strain, (had also been to the optician) originally cheap sunglasses, then raybans, then (after much research) Serengeti’s, I’m not sure what lenses you have, but I can wear mine in quite low light levels, so there should be no problem wearing them on non sunny days, as you can get quite a bit of glare through clouds sometimes. Basically if you’re squinting or straining your eyes because of the glare then put the shades on stuff what others think.

Aye i suspect your right, just a neurotic issue of feeling plonkerish sporting shades sans sunshine. If only serengetti made lighter on the nose frames, this would address the issue i guess.Ta for response.ps I reckon Ray Bans are not as good now as they were since ditching the Bausch & Lomb lens they once used,Serengettis really are the dogs ive found over the years, just a tad weighty.
ive got a pair of Armani ones off my holidays, 3 euros, dont seem very good tho,may be a fake!
I too launched a thread titled sunglasses last year (i think), and as a consequence opted for a decent pair. Bolle Anaconda w/ blue lenses.
Theyre quite striking, and make me look like an over-sized bluebottle, but i love
em for when the suns coming straight at you. They really cut through the haze and defo make for safer driving in these more extreme conditions. They
re also exceptionally good when driving through wooded areas in the sunshine, as they see through the dappling and help you keep your concentration.
Cheapies just dont deliver the subtle performance of the more expensive brands. I say cough up once for a good pair, and don
t get complacent with how you treat them. Should last forever!
