Cheap sunglasses v expensive

I got a cracking pair from poundland, in black but wanted the amber lense gives more visability in low light conditions. There,s a few good pairs on ebay ,won,t pay more than a fiver cos they always get scratched.
Would invest alot if they were scratch resistant where,s the best place to get them . :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Personally i use Ray Ban’s Glasses and sunglass’s. Always been fussy about glass’s…

To be honest mate, they only get scratched if you let them get scratched. Invest in a decent set and look after them, i always take my glasses off when getting out of the wagon and pop them on the dash to save them getting damaged and I store them in a decent case when not in use. Last set of Ray Bans I had them around 4 years and there wasnt a scratch on the lens’s only updated as my prescription changed.

I agree with drummerkev. Buy as expensive as you can afford and then cherish them. I always used to buy the cheapest I could find until I tried an expensive pair, now I’ll never go back to cheap again.

I tell my students on trackdays when they gloat about only paying fifty quid for a crash helmet ā€œif you’ve got a fifty quid head then buy a fifty quid helmetā€!

Your eyes are the same, you don’t get a free set.

Ray bans are worth paying for, when you pay a bit for a pair it makes you look after them.

Invest in polarised sunglasses and look after them. I got a prescription pair for about £120 off the Internet

Iv got D&G sunglasses as drummerkev said look after them they last foreverish

+1
I do exactly that and had my Ray Bans since 2008! They get put away in their case every time I’m not wearing them! And they almost like brand new!

Usually just the aviator style ones off eBay, never had a problem with them.

Also try green tint lenses, I find them superb for driving!

You cant beat Serengeti. Have a few pairs and they are excellent. Keep em in a nice case and they’ll last. I have a 5 year old pair that are as good as new

2nd Serengeti, father in law has them & he’s a man of standards. I have Oakley polarised since 2010, normal Oakley tinted+prescription, none are damaged or scratched, i don’t do cheap glasses-only have one pair of eyes…

I used to buy good sunglasses, but got fed up with them getting scratched/sat on/knicked/lost, and stick to cheap ones now.

WTF :open_mouth: :open_mouth: SILLY POST

I bougfht some blue boxer shorts last week but think green might be better. what do you think

Stick with blue , green will make you look like an eddie spotter.

Dont wear your blue boxers near Parkhead in Glasgow. If I had (my) motor I would have better quality kit sunglasses ,phone etc.etc.

In many ways yes unfortunately :frowning: lol

I paid Ā£160 for Maui Jim polarised sunglasses, they’re the best glasses I’ve had, had them 7 years and still not a scratch on them, well worth the money!

Ray Bans

Just out off interested I failed my medical at 21 so have had to wear glasses since(my eyes where perfect when I had my 7.5 medical at 18) I have a check up every 2 years and they have deteriorated each time I want a pair off prescription sunglasses but don’t want to shell out hundreds every 2 years, how much roughly are your ray bans or just a rough idea on how much a normal pair would cost thanks.

Do they?

My Ā£90 Polaroids are as good as new after 2 years use. If they’re not on my face, they’re in the protective case. Not a single scratch on 'em!

Sounds to me like you need to look after your stuff a bit better.
