What is the opinion on this, they swerve towards you to avoid a pigeon, pheasant, bunny or big rabbit, chickens, squirels and so but may write off their car for the sake of the cute creature who will run off laughing anyway,i am not talking about the big ones like a cow, deer, horses, that is a different thing.
Do you drive over road kill to make life easy for the magpies and birds of prey to have free dinner, some badgers explode with bloated gas,and make a bang, much to the horror of the driver behind you.
If millions are wasted on £1000 per hour top lawyers to stop a new road being built due to some tree hugger spotting a rare newt, why do we see so many birds of prey that have a rest and do no seem too bothered with 500 trucks an hour going past them.Nature will adapt to it`s surroundings to survive.
In one day,how many birds of prey do you see sat on the fence, are they secret spotters?
Some days I’m drawn to them like a magnet
The old time Spanish drivers in the 80s and 90
s would on purpose knock down stray dogs for fun to keep the population down.
If i got up early and not that awake, you would see large dogs, mongrels of all types, the smell of rotting flesh in 45 degree heat was quite something.
In the 1960’s on the Brecon Beacons you would see dead sheep squashed all over the road flattened by night trunkers, who would run over them as they were sleeping on the road.Cruel sods !!!
Why do birds fly badly, always aim themselves at the windscreen and turn at the last minute, they take off in the path of the lorry.

never did understand why birds fly so low, if I was a bird I would fly high to be safe and so I could spread my crap further
Must admit I swerved for a rabbit the other day, I normally hit them though if they have Mixi to put them out of there misery.
Hit a cat once heard its head bounce underneath my car from front to back, felt bad about that, hell I must have a heart
Is there a link to Mixi disease with Australian rabbits, man made disease to keep the numbers down, down under, the little blighters go blind with puss and juice coming out the eyes.
I slowed right down and swerved the other morning to avoid a cute ickle fox cub. When I returned later that day it was still there. Squashed with a sad look on its face and it’s spleen sticking out glistening a redish green colour. I was very upset. Slowing down had added 30 seconds to my day.
The Myximatosis is man made its actually the rabbit form of V.D. The low flying birds veer away because of the volume of air that our vehicles push in front of them. You can see this to full effect in the Winter when we drive through falling snow, very few flakes contact the windscreen.
i dont swerve for them. Friday morning 05.15 i left the yard, and within 10 mins i had killed or seriously injured 3 pigeons.
Pigeons like the grit on the road,it is good for their digestion, they like the grain and wheat off bulkers,or hay and straw wagons, the seeds of the stalks.

I would imagine a Bridgestone imprint kind of solves that problem for them.
Mating foxes get stuck together, painfull for the female, then they get run over.
I flattened a young crow in the yard a few days ago, it just stood there as I was coming towards it, I thought it would fly off so I carried on, went past looked in the mirror and it was flat as a pancake, about an half hour later, one of the girls came out of the office, she seen it and nearly threw up
, she got site maintenance to scoop it up
Guts all over the yard.
i don’t like hitting any animals, but if they don’t move, i don’t give a ■■■■, gene pool and all that.
YOU swerve for an animal out here and run of the road and you missed it no marks on vehicle…deer etc the manitoba insurance company classes it as driver error and you get demerits on your insurance.
company policy is hit it!!!not the ditch, then they get paid out no prob.
biggest thing for me is the Salamanders crossing the rd on migration just outside the village…seems like millions o them …you miss one and you hit two.not nice…!!!.must be going saft in my old age.
