Who cares, anywhere but here is good.
He doesn’t like being called out, or proved wrong or lying.
The issue was he very convincingly sold it to us like a dodgy door to door salesman of cleaning products or vacuums, and dusters, that he had years of experience on using tilt trailers, with the line of using one on multi drop run’s.
It was clearly evident he had no experience but then continued to twist the story to suit his narrative and agenda to be always right despite 20 drivers saying he was wrong.
He got into an argument, saying that a R15 speed RoadRanger had two splitters.
I have driven RoadRangers almost exclusively, for over forty years. There are other equally experienced fellows here, who he also wanted to argue with and tell how we were all doing it wrong.
Once conclusively proven wrong he clutched at every straw available, trying to save face. All to no avail, he again proved himself a knob. Sort it out before he left the yard, he couldn’t sort it out before he left the country. The biggest thing he’s ever driven would be an automatic tr anny.
I can cope with people who have a different opinion to mine, I respect everyone’s right to hold any opinion; what really pushes my buttons is big-noting braggards who insult my intelligence with their bs.
You wouldn’t want to be sliding along her cant rail in high wind though
For someone who didn’t like being made a fool of he kept coming back for more and more. From absurd transport connections and operating procedures through to the Communist take over of everything the world has to offer. I’d like to say that he was a mild source of amusement (every forum has them) but his was a strange dark world filled with conspiracy theories and outlandish claims. Was there a truck that he hadn’t driven? Was there a load that he had never carried? Was there a trailer that he had never pulled?
Hopefully he has had enough or been refused access to the internet. To paraphrase Humphrey Bogart “of all the forums, in all the world, he had to wander into ours”
Bar a couple of stoushes on the merits of synchro boxes, I rarely tangled with Our Man in Leatherhead, so I suppose his presence hasn’t bothered me as much as many others here. That aside,
… is very much my take. It’s horses fer courses, a chacun son gout as they say in Portugal, Spain, Germany, Italy (…) but if I want to do politics I’ll go to a politics forum (I use reddit): if I want to ramble about trucks and buses, I don’t post on a politics forum. I’m simple-minded like that. I suspect that the primary reason the Bullies Bully’s board exists is to generate clicks and comments and “engagement”, thus profit. As SDU says, there are still a few here posting good content but given how many regulars on the old (clunky) forum have disappeared, well it’s no surprise the place ain’t what it used to be.
Well that’s a thong thing to contend with. (I’ve been here (Oz) for more than half my life and I still cannot (after all these decades) call flip-flops “thongs”.)
The young lady in the red bikini can clean my cab anytime to dust off the buttons and switches.
Maybe you should just steer clear of a topic about politics on a forum titled anything but trucking.
The worst thing that happened to Tnet in large part for agreeing with you and admiring your input.
Go figure.
Actually I’ve gone nowhere, yet.Certainly not over a few deluded, self entitled, self appointed, rulers of a forum who thinks they have the God given right to pass judgement on other posters who they’ve never met and don’t know calling them liars for daring to disagree with them.
Yes I’ve driven Fullers in my time but not the 15 speed.
What have I said wrong about them.Superior to synchro boxes, lighter and faster to shift, more durable less parts to wear out and replace cheaper to fix.
Agree with the factory floating shifts is bad practice.
Oh dear, our hubris friend has reappeared, just when we thought it was safe to start an adult conversation.
Carryfast, experienced men such as myself and others on this forum recognise your fake experience. You glean experience and knowledge from the internet and fellows who have done the job, then imagine it was you. I reckon it’s got to the stage where even you can’t distinguish between reality and your vivid imaginings. Let’s face it, you’ve never finished anything, you overstate the importance of every role you’ve had and each position you’ve held.
The reality is that you had a brief brush with the industry but could not move past the first rung. You have never driven a truck beyond the post office, you’ve never slept in a truck; taking parcels from A to B and back is hardly onerous, particularly when you get to go home and your own bed every day. You have never had to find a load, secure a load or consolidate a load.
There are aspects of the industry that you don’t even know exist, such is your limited experience.
There is no shame in limited experience, some people are happy to perform the same role from leaving school to retirement, power to those people. The shame is when you want to move up the ladder, but cannot cut the mustard so lie about it. You may fool folk who neither know nor care about the industry, but you’re transparent to us genuinely experienced drivers.
We must look up to the heavens for the pearls of wisdom.
They generally come in the form of pigeon poo in the eye.
Seagull droppings.
More like the OMG.
