We have a sun dodger among us, be careful out there!

Just kidding shippers  I’m just a simple skimmer after all.

I’ve been driving for a living since the age of 17 when I drove a bread van for a local bakery, but have loads of other jobs on/off/inbetween driving work. Trainee Rugby League protégé (failed!) exhibition stand erector, landscape gardener, barman, and for the last 30 years I have been failing to make it big as a musician. My latest venture in the music business is a lot of fun though…do any old punks remember Ed Banger & the Nosebleeds? Manchester based punk band from 1976 who have had Morrisey & Billy Duffy from the Cult in the line up in the late 1970’s. I am currently the lead guitarist in that band!

Dock worker at 17
Postman at 19 for 7 yrs.
Textile manufacturer for automotive industries for 2 yrs.

Now manager of dyehouse I was at previously.

Plan on doing my class 1 beginning of next yr and then look for permanent driving work class 1 or 2.

Several months ago there was a lawyer on trucknet who had just passed the c+e and was saying how much he was enjoying being a truck driver.
I am wondering how he is going on with the slight difference in pay and all that, and is he still with us, or returned to his former career.

Sure I saw someone on this thread earlier that had lawyer on the list . Have to say this is a fascinating look at peoples lives.

Engineer,worked for rolls Royce,aveling Barford etc,trained as a universal grinder,but did jig boring,turning,milling,welding etc,no I don’t regret leaving( well pay ,hrs,conditions I should) but I don’t,something I was told I was good at ,but never enjoyed .
Would I go back ,I’ve had offers,I just don’t no.
