Mainly day work but some nights out.

Never stress your self out its only a job
get a smart phone with google and google earth and street view
you always find the correct delivery point .
never trust post codes.

You will not get laughed at.Some baby wipes are ideal if no time for a shower.
Hand steriliser.Foam ear plugs for sleeping in noisy laybys.
Free mag Truckstop News lists most truckstops.
If enter them in the sat nav for future use.A cheap throw away camera or a camera to photo accidents you may have on the road.
Clip board to keep paper work tidy.
Ask your boss to sign up for Snap parking. That way,you do not pay.

Do you know what nights out.Ie regular ones or you just don’t know?.I would carry your night out gear in your car at least.Quilt pillar wash gear and the likes.

I’m also starting my driving job Monday.
As your a female, pretty sure there will be plenty of drivers willing to help. As already said, if you get stuck, just ask.

Goodluck.

All the best with it. Some great advice already given. I would just add that I’d take the night out bag out of the car and always have it with me.

The best planned “day” job can turn into a night out.

good luck with the new job. you will love it just take your time n if you get stuck get out the truck and have a walk round and look to how you think you should do it. iv only been driving class 2 for just over a year and I still get out and have a good look at where im reversing into and going around in a yard. im taking my class 1 test tomorrow and I cant reverse for ■■■■ but o well I get paid by the hour and if I need to shunt i will. here is a list of things i take with me.

Plus u I have to thank for getting me through my test 2 yrs ago.

Question i have just done my mod 4, Do i still have to do 35 hours course or i am okie for 5 years now??

Most drivers will help out with any questions. For example, manual entries on a digital tachograph.
This where the shift time is different to the time recorded on a time sheet.
You turn up at the yard at 6 am but no truck.
Its on a night shift or in the garage.
Truck is available at 9 am.
Go in the digi menu to enter other work from 6 am.

All the best on your new career , take it easy and don’t rush , if unsure get out and look I’m sure you’ll be fine regards Tom

It seems women can ask more easily for help and people will always give it, although most times I’ve asked for help, I assume because i’m a guy they think I should already know and looked at me in sheer horror if I asked a silly question when I was new.

Best of luck with your new job.

I started off with a small rucksack - 2 months later and nearly need to tow another trailer with the amount of stuff and its still rising!
