Nice one Chris, brings back memories of giving and getting a lift, no charge in a car on the trailer when it wasn’t possible to fit guys in the cab, thumbing on dodgies etc., pulling away from a junction or t/lights there would be a prolonged blast on a horn, what the f , of course it was a silly bugger on the back

Perhaps posted earlier? Herewith a quite rare DAF-truck-transporter from De Rooy-Geldrop
of 1968 (because of the new horizontal ventilation in grille) though the registration starting
with VN is from 1966. Vehicle was entirely based on 2600
Just read through all this. Awesome thread and pics. Lots of nice trucks and a few of companies I hope one day to work for. Will try and post a pic of my transporter. Drive a 7.5t + trailer Isuzu for a finance firm “credit plus” written all over it. We got 2, 1 with a sleeper pod on, not mine but maybe in a few months.
When I worked in Derby as a salesman I was getting a bit of flack from a school I’d sold a minibus to.It arrived but when it was being driven off a chain managed to catch the drip rail over the rear doors.I don’t think I should say anymore.
A few more, hopefully not posted before, filing system is crap and the grey matter let’s me down now and again , anyway thanks to those who share their pictures within the terms of Creative Commons

I’ve mentioned before about Progressive having these red liveried Commer wagon and drags, they were red with gold lettering, I had one for a while, Perkins R6 and Eaton two speed, chuffed to finally find a pic of one, albeit an advert. I am not 100% sure but I think they were previously Larry Port wagons who was taken over by Progressive, there were at least two of them. The Larry Port yard was next to Furness and Parker at Baginton Toll.
The chap in the pic is a young Tony Horn one of Billy’s two sons.
These and the Leyland/Carrimore 9 cars were a doddle to load/unload even for a driver on his own, if his mate wasn’t up to it.

Oily might be able to answer this one , but its open for anybody .
At what point did Silcock and Collings become Silcock and Collins ?
Thanks
Apologies itsa me for not responding quicker, not genned up on that outfit, only that they started off as Silcocks then Silcock and Collings to become Silcock Express and finally I guess merged or taken over by a bigger fish , transporterman or Dieseldog66 may have the answer.
Anyway, about time I added a few more to keep the thread alive, first pic snapped in Dingwall today.
