Never seen a bar like that, presumably it goes over the front to prevent a car from dropping off when flipped or driven off with overexuberance?
Here’s a bit of a one-off. A Hoynor mk7 converted to carry 10 Vauxhall Cavaliers but shown here with Lotus Esprits at Berth 22 Southampton. (Note the good looking chap posing in front of the transporter).
Great old picture there “thevint” , did you have any of the Leyland Roadtrains when you were on that firm ?,nice expensive load there though .

its about time us transporter drivers had a thread we can use to show our photos old and new,i’ve been on “cars” since 98,
coming off general haulage i started at WA GLENDINNINGS(like a lot of drivers in the north east)then, after about 2 years moved to PAUL HODGSON.about another 2 years went by when i started for WALON.which became AUTOLOGIC,where i’m still employed…(apart from the 5months i worked for autocar logistics, when i was tupe’d over.but the less said about them the better)…so here’s a few pictures to get the thread started.
Only have these few to add to your theme

I was based at Luton and at that time they only had Volvo FL10’s and about ten of these Mercedes artics. I think they were Dawson Rental trucks, most of them had D86 9-car Hoynor trailers apart from a couple of Mk7 7-cars which were used to ferry from the Vauxhall factory to Slip End.
