For what it’s worth this type of insurance you’ve brought up isn’t for me but thanks for bringing it to my attention as my current loony machine is planned to be a second/summer car soon so this could be something I’ll use in future.
Thank you. Temporary insurance is such a useful feature of the app, I’ve used it a lot in the past to drive friends and borrowed cars
I think it’s a brilliant idea and it clearly works well for you Luke, and I’m sure it will for many others.
Unfortunately for me they want £32 per day on top of the standing charge which works out very expensive! But thanks for the recommendation, great idea if it works for you.
No use to me as my car is rather expensive and I require it to be fully comp, however one of my sons is a fisherman and is away for 5 weeks at a time sometimes longer, he is only home for two weeks max each trip so for him it is a good idea and would work. He sold his car because it wasn’t worth insuring for the amount of time he would use it. This would be a great idea. Thanks for this as it is something he will use, I didn’t realise there was such a thing.
Thank you chaps, at least some can see that my intention was to be helpful! As for the £32 a day charge- what do you drive?! That’s very steep compared to my oldish Volvo and its £6 a day!
There must be a market opportunity for motorcycle insurance on this basis (although as with the car insurance, it’s difficult to see how their business model can be competitive unless the “subscription” costs almost the same as a regular paid-monthly policy).

I’m not sure it’s meant to be competitive. it’s mainly aimed at folk buying cars and getting them home . I have had a couple of people do this when I’ve sold cars . It obviously works well for Luke for a couple of days per month with unattended cover but for much more than that it is what it is. there a fair few firms do it even the major players . I think what a few people don’t get is it’s insured anatended at any place only becomes un insured when you get in the car
