Got interview tomorrow for class 1 13 quid hour 46 hours then time and half on wilkinson contract. Anyone got advice here

I saw that one advertised, was tempted to apply myself. But I be down ere in Devon, so a bit out of the way for me. £13 an hour and time + 1/2 after 46? must be a catch somewhere :confused: Hope not and hope it works out for you. let us know how you get on :smiley:

Guess what got me the interview YEP THATS RIGHT THE FULL DCPC CARD as it’s a major requirement in advert :laughing:

Best to get that straight before you go in tomorrow and say something stupid like “I want to work for Canutes because…”.

The best job I ever had (the one I’ve got now), I got partly because I impressed the interviewer with my knowledge of the company; what they do, when they started, how many vehicles they’ve got, what type of vehicles they’ve got, etc etc.

I acquired this information by looking at their website for all of five minutes.

Best five minutes I ever spent.

Now then, Canute. I know a couple of blokes who have worked for them out of Gamston and Manton and from what I hear, they’ll be wanting their pound of flesh in return for your £13p/h.

What firm doesn’t what your pound of flesh but if it’s the money they saying it is plus overtime they can have as much as they want it’s my pockets that will be lined and let’s face it their ain’t much else to do at gnus time of year once Xmas over so might as well graft. Other than that I’m due to sign on Monday

I had an interview there, and got offered the job. Turned it down as it was twilight shifts. 3 rotas, 2pm week one, 4pm week two and 6pm week three. They’re doing 8 stores from the yard at purfleet, with deckers trunking from worksop. 2 runs a day, furthest being Orpington. You’ll take 500 a week for 9 hrs a day. Is there enough demand for those 8 Wilkes to have 1-2 deliveries a day after crimbo? I don’t know. Wasn’t worth giving up my job for imho. They only want 3 drivers, and I know 4 here and 1 on coop who have all turned it down. Bloke’s called Adam. Seemed a nice bloke tbf

I will take 500 home for 9 hrs. No prob not arsed abt shift hours. Gotta be better than dole b4 Xmas. And sounds a doss only prob is I gotta commute from Chelmsford which is gonna hit me a bit. But shouldn’t be too much of prob put it this way if I get 4 weeks that’s 2 grand b4 I sign on !!!

There is no other shift. There’s 3 fm’s. All in Wilkes colours. They run on concurrent shifts and sit in the yard between. Might be able to stay in them, dunno, didn’t ask

Well I start Monday I got the 11 till 8 shift 13 per hour time and half after 46 hr. 13 plate scanny. I’m in for isotrak training at first then I get Stratford and return then ilford and return that’s my run. What a doss !!! :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :open_mouth: and to think he has had 4 drivers say yes and not turn up well I’m having some that’s for sure

Yeah it’s £13 at purfleet which is london money.

If you work out of a different depot it’s probably northern money = carp.

Thanks all for the good lucks. Gotta laugh just as I got home from interview and accepting job phone rang with a job offer for after Xmas. So if this doesn’t work out gotta in at another. Oh how I love my SHINY BLUE DCPC CARD it’s a DOOR OPENER :wink:
