As much as I see the plight of the OP, alarm bells are ringing, as there was a recent thread about “stuck in Spain” scams

thanks I understand the concern I did not know there had been scam about stuck in spain. I will keep trying and if all else fails start hitching on Saturday

you could also use Eurolines

Your right next to alicante. Ryanair flight Friday back to Glasgow 109 euro return. I assume it’s cheaper one way, I didn’t check. 20 euro in a taxi will get you to the airport and you’d be back in Scotland for a 100 sterling. And home in a couple of hours. I think your a chancer fella

and cheaper than all the hotels you’re staying in …

Just saying like!

also, don’t think the repo men have jurisdiction in other countries

This seems the best course of action. I got the eurostar from london changed in paris on to a overnight sleeper to barcalona a couple of years back was less thsn 100 quid.

Worse case, if you don`t have cash/plastic phone/email a friend or relative, and get them to book a flight online & pay them back later, getting home asap is paramount. sitting on your ■■■ looking at options is just pointless

Certainly a better option than registering as a brand new user on an internet forum and asking for help … you’ve made four posts in total and they’re all on this thread. Sorry to appear cynical (and I apologise if I’m way off the mark) but this looks dodgy to me.

Cant you just get a Ryanair flight? Google where they fly from, book a cheapo ticket, back in no time, or get to Santander or Bilbao and get on ferry as foot passenger. Only cost me £70 in the height of summer. Lots of drivers, me included, would be reluctant to share their cab with a random stranger.

Unless you have ■■■■, and a nice hip/waist ratio…

Speak for yourself

Also I agree with the above, basically on financial grounds.

Lets say you get a lift, you’d still have to pay your ferry ticket yeah or no? Then food costs and trying to get other lifts upto 4 or 5 days to get you to Scotch, or 2.5hrs on a plane…

Easyjet 11-35 am to Glasgow 13-55pm on Friday 6/12/13 from Alicante for 119-99 euros your family can book online for you and you are home, far better than sharing a cab and generally messing about.

I can think of worse places to be stuck

Is this where you ask for money to get home or is it genuine?

seemingly they had tried to catch me at dover on road over and missed me ,after doing a delivery in paris ten I headed to Almeria in spain they caught me there all legal paperwork from U.K courts I aint going to stand in there way I am just a worker.
And no iam not asking for money just if some one had a spare seat to get lift back to uk no begging I just am trying to cover all areas to get back to family.
I understand where your coming from tarrman but it is genuine I just want back home

Possession is 9/10ths of the law. They’d have to drag me kicking and screaming away from my charge with police in attendence IF some stranger with some bits of paper I wouldn’t know from adam was just gonna calmly walk up, and steal my vehicle.

If there are no police present, then a point blank refusal can offend them as much as anyone likes - Perhaps some physical threats happen next? - If not, just send them packing. Merely handing a vehicle over, and then “Hey, how am I gonna get back to England?” with the retort “That’s your problem bud, we don’t have any duty of care to you, because we’re crooks” is always going to be the enacted answer…

Authority is only obtained by the consent of the governed. Without that consent, you are being abused, and the first line of defence is not to let that happen. Last time I looked, “repo staff” had no rights whatsoever to do anything without asking nicely, and hoping some mug will fall for their spiel. The police don’t get involved with private repo people either, so any pretence of authority dies with that.

I may be wrong, but I don’t think we’ll be seeing the OP on the forum again. With the possible exception of a rant about how no one is willing to help him and the trucking community isn’t what it was. Followed by a big flounce.

and don’t forget he’ll have all his o/n gear plus cooking gear and food and cmr and load, if he didn’t deliver it all…
