I trust you won’t be doing the deliveries in the order you’ve written them

Thats whats written in the manifest.

Unless someone knows of a Bishop Briggs near Blackburn you may want to rethink the rout.

Bishop Briggs is in Glasgow

Midnight Rambler:
Bishop Briggs is in Glasgow

That’s what I was getting at.

You don’t want to be going form Edinburgh to Blackburn then back up to north of Glasgow just to go back down to Lincoln.

Thought it was obvious, doing the drops in Scotland. It would strike even me as odd if I was to drive back down south to Blackburn in England only to have to return to Glasgow.

No probs, have a good trip

AVOID THE A1 (Team Valley) AT ALL COSTS!!

After you’ve done Gateshead, double back onto the A194, go through tunnel - A19, and back onto A1 north a Seaton Burn.

It’s a joke round at the Team Valley area ATM, there’s 40 and 50mph average speed cameras set up now until ZB knows when - so people do 20!

Happy I don’t drive any more…

With due respect mate unless they are rdc’s you should doddle that in two days. Would think you should be in Edinburgh in time to tip then park at Edinburgh truckstop Portobello and finish off be empty late morning friday and steady run back to Imp city

Focus on one drop at a time, pump up the radio, feast on some tasty snacks, think of all then numptys stuck behind desks, grin at all the poor driving you witness. Does not always work but I get up each morning and give it a go!

Obviously brains still aren’t a pre-requisite for truck driving!! :unamused:

And by the way, it’s Bishopbriggs.

Very true. I remember being in Shotton, County Durham and being asked by a driver where the paper mill was. Err…that would be North Wales, my friend. Old time driver, didn’t need maps…knew these roads like the back of his hand…

As someone that’s been doing the Newcastle run lately I second this. That bit of the A1 from the Angel round Newcastle is completely ■■■■■■ at the moment. People do indeed do 20-25mph in a 40mph limit and still they brake for the cameras :unamused: but what’s just as annoying is trying to avoid the 100s of sunken manholes with your nearside wheels as the narrow lane leaves you nowhere else to drive.

I’m not a local to the area but I’d probably go over the bridge (A167) after Gateshead and then cut across the A1058 to Whitley Bay rather than going through the tunnel, but I’m never up there through the daytime so don’t know if traffic would be an issue then.

You weren’t alone, I nearly commented the same till I read the whole thread. Didn’t know the jocks had a Blackburn too, though I daresay ours has probably got a better football team.

Blackburn, West Lothian, is where the lovely Susan Boyle comes from, and still lives.

Does my head in when planners say you must be there before this time etc etc when you have 3 or 4 drops before,I mean how do you know how long a tip is going to be??
I also hate someone on a desk telling me I will be ok you can do it :imp:

My gaffer only takes so much work on and if a bit more is offered we sub it out,now when things go wrong we have to jig the work around a bit but some firms just take on way too much work and then start stressing when it goes wrong.
