Calling current MAN drivers

Why do they have a exercise machine in the passenger foot well. Look at the pictures 2 post above this.

It’s a foot rest. Makes it more comfortable for the passenger.

I have driven a few recent trucks including a MAN 12 reg but I have never driven any truck where the mirrors obsure vision approaching a roundabout ■■?

Don’t like that ‘bulge’ that’ll be next to your ‘spare leg’, whether it be LHD or RHD…

Looks like you’ll be hemmed in like on a Volvo or Merc…

All those controls on and around the still huge ships tiller wheel!?

Curious regarding the headlights though…? They look expensive to replace yes, but surely an improvement?

The previous headlights the clear glass cover was replaceable, i suspect those led lights are now one single plastic moulding as i believe is new gen Scania = £££, possibly as much as ££££ :open_mouth:
Some car led headlights are well into 4 figures now (not on anything i’m going to be owning, poke it where the sun don’t shine matey), and not exotica either, can’t imagine these being much less.

Previous Volvo FM and FH had far worse mirrors than MAN’s version, like barn doors, presumably the bog cleaner had a spare trap door in his cupboard glued a wardrobe mirror on and nailed it to the drivers door, thats about as much thought must have gone into them.

You get used to the MAN jobbies, which as mirrors really are very good, i’d like to have seen a gap between the two to peer through, but that might have meant swapping the wide angle mirror to top position as Scania, i prefer the wide angle mirror at the bottom just seems more natural to use, not interested in cameras instead and i think they will be a short lived fad.

I agree, I feel some actually forget they can move their head or even the top half of their body instead of sitting in the usual driving position and then blaming the mirrors for causing blindspots!
