I honestly don’t think it’s anything to do with that. If it was all white eastern Europeans over there, people would be thinking the same. It’s the fact they are poor people from poor/knackered/hopeless countries. The public perception is that they are all trying to get over here, with nothing to offer in terms of skills & wealth, to leech off/burden the state & further over populate our country and it’s labour market to the detriment of the indigenous population already here. That’s where the animosity comes from.
I’m afraid i’m reluctantly in the “no room at the inn” camp. In an ideal world i’d love the UK to be able to take all these people in and help them, but we’re only a tiny little island with an already excessive population & strained public services and we’ve got to be realistic. France has roughly the same population as the UK but is about 2.5x the size.
When will Africans start helping themselves? How long must it be a third-world continent, with such vast resources and available labour? we must stop sending aid money that gets spent on more guns and start finding solutions.
Many western people have been killed fighting to defend the freedoms we enjoy, there are many amongst these migrants who will threaten our safety. They ghettoise wherever they settle, and then perpetuate their religious and tribal hatreds here too. They would send us back to the stone age if they could.

It seems like the wheels are falling off the EU Socialist dream.The hypocritical Italian Socialist/Communist zb Renzi is all for taking them in but then wants to send them to France etc.Meanwhile his Socialist ally Hollande knows that if he goes along with the plan he’s toast because it will guarantee a win for the FN.
While Cameron is in a similar situation here in that his continuing support of our open door immigration policy is ( rightly ) just providing UKIP with more ammunition.

Now Osbourne will borrow what he needs to give to foreigners, not tax the rich, but tax the middle to break even, and cut public services to re-stock the dole queues with actual Brits on less JSA than new arrivals sharing a hand car wash job ten ways for maxed-out tax credits…
I concur with Janos and why can’t Africa support itself, charity money goes “missing”, the ones in power have private jets and palaces.
Live Aid and Geldoffs Band Aid, millions went missing and not given to who needed it.

I always feel more sympathetic to the dogs that have been left to fester in their own sh|t and waste, or left on a corner in a box. I have no problem with these animals having support. Just not the other kind.

These people are not fleeing persecution. They’re already in a safe country with vast wealth. But, there’s an even wealthier country just over the water so their greed kicks in and we have scenes like this.
If they’re genuinely fleeing persecution, and let’s park the passing through safe countries fact for a second, announce that benefits and national insurance numbers will only be issued to eu citizens (gb ideally, but not until we’re out of the Brussels club) then let’s see how many are still there
Next time you see one of those heartstring ads calling for you to provide help for these poor buggers, just remember that it costs less to bury them than feed them.
Simple maths means that our foreign aid budget should shrink in line with the population figures. This leaves more of their own money for those that live and they can prosper in lavish style
