I used to do quite a bit of milk powder from the MMB at Whitland. Anyone know if it’s still there?

Both Llangodog and Whitland milk places are long gone. There is still one in West Wales near Llampeter as far as I know. Ianto is the man for info on those area’s.
Cheers Dave.

Yes I can remember the CWS milk depot at Llanelwedd. My Dad had a smack with one of their wagons between Builth and Llanynis back in the late 50’s, no injuries, but both lorries were badly damaged.
Cheers Dave.

Hi Keith,
I vaguely remember going into Llanelwedd quarry once as a driver. I went in there quite a bit about 12 years ago when I was TM for an owner driver who ran an ERF eight legger out of there.
I hauled from the Gore, Dolyhir, Strinds and the now closed Nash quarries near here. I went into Clee Hill for a load, also picked up gravel from Bromfield and sand from Stretton Sugwas pit.
I live about 2 miles from the Gore.
Cheers Dave.

Now that is one for ROF to identify , Glos reg ? May be George Read ? regards Keith .

Hi Kingswinford Kit, yes definitely a George Read motor, bought new in the 50’s in a batch of consecutive reg nos. They were overhauled by young George (George M Read ) when he worked in his father’s garage. The sister to it PDF 605 was stolen from Tooley Street in London on it’s first trip after overhaul. All that remained of it was a small pile of broken glass which was a result of gaining entry .It was never seen again. This story was related to me in 1976 by Young George.

andrew, if that octopus was the one with barbra bowering on it, it must of been martin bowerings. he had it for afew years.he ran allaston grove sawmills near lydney, ran afew trucks on round timber, went on to be come mayor of lydney!!! also he is a nice chap.
