Hello Trevor
I assume you are referring to this , but it was taken on the A417 Bird lip hill on its way to Austin Rover at Swindon . I am afraid to say i have nothing in the way of Merlin , largely i found that fleet to be rather non descript . cc .
Evening chepstowchap.
I have only recently come across this site and am very pleased to have found it as you have a lot on here which I too have followed over the years eg John Evans, Tree Harvesting and stuff around the Brecon area. I was prompted to write by this picture and the mention of Merlin Transport as I have recently added a load of their lorries ( inc G367RLG) onto my Flickr site flickr.com/photos/16212470@N03 which you and others may find of interest.
Regards
Chris Richards
That trailer looks a heavy one never seen that in port talbot merlins we’re put together with all the steel employees pension money then when they finished they had to sell everything to put the money back in the bank so people retiring got there pension back british steel was a big contributor to rovers blue line joints Raymond’s used to load secon London to swindon
Lovely picture , Shotton had afew of those trailers , probably the last ones . PSF at Swindon was not a regular drop . thank you Trevor

Hello Chris ,
Have enjoyed looking at your flickr site . This was shot near Builth Wells . cc .
Another good one cc. Keep them coming.
Cheers Dave.
Evening cc
Thanks for you comments. Keep these John Evans on the move pictures coming. Although I have loads of photos of them, most were at their various weekend locations but I was always intrigued by the variety of loads and trailers.

Hello Chris and Dave ,
This was taken a couple of miles further up the road than my previous image . cc , ps a very wet day !! .
That looks like on the back road from Newbridge to Beulah , think there is a weight limit on that route now saved a few miles by passing Builth . regards Keith .
