Another great photo C C. I see it’s got a HA reg plate which was Dudley in 1979.

Hi Chris , can not think who the previous owner of that Guy was ? May be Richard Hampton , or Manders paints . Joint , had about 6 of those J units , one of them did road service . regards Keith .

I was thinking R Hampton myself Keith, the maroon motors in Patent Shaft Wednesbury.

Hi Chris ,
Patent Shaft Axletree from Wednesbury , blast from the past , nice fleet did alot of stulff to the motor industry especially Vauxhall at Luton , if i remember correctly Patent Shaft sourced their steel from the Sheffield area , Templeborogh mills for instance . regards Keith .

I only ever loaded out of there once Keith and can’t recall who I got the load through unless it was off 20th Century or maybe Hamptons thereselves. Most of the backloads were for artics and I only had a 6-legger at first. I did get one load on my Reiver off them for Whessoe at Darlington, two lifts and done.

Nice pic cc. I’m trying to think where that is near Knighton, obviously on some common land with no fences, also who that ERF belonged to.
Hedley Simcock from Kington ran an eight wheeler ERF on timber, not sure if that is his or not.
Cheers Dave.

I can’t remember that one cc. Strange as I live quite near his yard and where he used to live. Hedley ran an assortment of lorries in his time. A real charactor, and a sad loss.
Cheers Dave.

Great shot CCCP,I thought that was the entrance to the Builth quarry when I saw it. Last time I was there would be 1985 when I was 10,I took my first truck photos there and one of them was a poor shot of A E Gough’s Foden S40 eight legger. Do you have any pics of it please mate?

I’m still taking photos and am about to top 35,000 truck pics.
