aaron it just goes to show you dont know what youve got and what you have got !1 , i did not know they ran T45s as well , i think they used that route through mid wales taking special sand to the dams there , thanks from us both .

Thats the Abbey , Port Talbot, i think Joints had about 6 of these big Js , one example i remember was one from Leeds in Cooper steelwork livery . CC how did you manage to secure this evocative shot ? , but thank you very much , regards Keith.

Thought it could be Keith. I have been in there more times than I care to remember. Hard work with a Bedford TK running at 14 ton gross loaded both ways, but I would do it again.

I was thinking R Hampton myself Keith,the maroon motors in Patent Shaft Wednesbury.

Bang on with that one cc. Gordon Roberts ran a lot of various wagons in the 30+ years he operated his fleet. He forgot more about transport than most. He was the best TM Brisbanes had until he left and started his own fleet. As you say both the Evans firms look similar especially with the B series ERF’s.

Patent Shaft Axletree from Wednesbury , blast from the past , nice fleet did alot of stulff to the motor industry especially Vauxhall at Luton , if i remember correctly Patent Shaft sourced their steel from the Sheffield area , Templeborogh mills for instance . regards Keith .
