Bye bye stupid speed limits

fuse:
I wonder what will happen when the customer says they want their hauliers to do 45mph in the way they are setting rules as in FORS, who gets to say what the FORS MAFIA or the EU,

FORS ■■
And why, or how would the customer have any say in how fast the haulier’s trucks go, it’s got absolutely ■■■■ all to do with them I would say.

The higher limit has now been in for 2 weeks and most drivers seem to think it’s a good thing, so if your hourly paid how much less have you earned this week

Nothing. I just sit at the changeovers longer or stop for a quick wake up brew on the way back to the yard on nights. You’re a pariah amongst drivers at our spot if you do the run any more than a few minutes less than is on the control sheet. Days aren’t an issue as I don’t think anyone has come even close to hitting the time on the sheet. Nearest I’ve managed is half an hour over.

To be worried about earning a few minutes less a week I’d be more concerned about getting a better job!

It’maybe more about carving the job up for everybody else, if you get some star shaving half an hour off they want it all the time so everyone else suffers :bulb: ask our mate dozy

Its a double edged sword, used to do a night trunk they never really checked up hours wise, they had set amount of time for the different trunks which were generous. Say night trunk could easily be done in 10hrs they would allow 12hrs for it or another one could do in 7hrs without breaking a sweat and would allow 10hrs. But that just wasn’t good enough for some had to really hang it out until got to the point suddenly everyone’s in the spotlight. So before could go down the M6 stop for a coffee on the way down, take break at depot down the road, then have another coffee break on the way back up suddenly wanting to know why your stopping.

Same thing but done by taking the ■■■■ rather than teararsing around and trying to impress. Both ways spoil it for others. It has always been the same in this job, you will always get at least one arse hole that will ■■■■ it up for the rest and who is too thick to see it.
