My truck, Mr V finished his last day of work yesterday 15/03/12.
He’s been a hell of a truck. Purchased in 2006 for the sum of 32k showing 540k. 7 years on and I’ve sold him for export for 10k having covered over a million k’s with him. Although, sadly, we were about 14000k’s short of the million mile mark.
In 7yrs he’s become quite the celeb, touching many lives from birthday treats for disadvantaged children to weddings, proms, carnivals, convoys and of course sadly, funerals.
And all of that with out a V8 engine!!!
In 7 yrs he has earns some silver wear, the highest accolade being 2nd place best kept working truck 2008 at Santa Pod.
His work has been containers, tankers, long loads, general haulage, bulk potatoes.
He’s had low points too, being written off thru being beyond financial repair was a real bad time. To be involved in such a horrific accident took some coping with.
Why? Well, his replacement was offered to me and I couldn’t afford to turn it down.
Yes it’s a Scania and no it’s not a V8.
Good bye Mr V. You’ve been legendary.
Your going to have to post some photos as a final tribute
And some pics of the new one before any changes made to it.
Must say that 10k is not a bad price. In the years you had him you made a small lose.
Hope the new one works out just fine for you.
Ahh, sad times. Not as easy as peeling a couple of stickers off an Axor and kicking it off the side of the quay! Looking forward to seeing the new model, and hopefully depending on where Mr. V is off to, euromat will be able to get a few pics of him in his new home! All the best, stranger!

I’d say you read it wrong. He said it was ‘showing’ 540K so I would assume that was in KM

I know it’s not exactly what u sled, but this is the bet I can do right now.
It’s certainly a good looking truck and I’ll look forward to seeing the new one.
Sad day Rob, will be missed, a stunning motor for sure,
Going to have get the eye in to spot your new truck,
Sad day Rob, I don’t know if exporting is a fitting end, I would have thought floating out to sea on a burning long ship would be more appropriate.
On the up side there’s going to be some happy bloke on Senegal trucknet posting pictures of his Mr Vain.
So, in your opening post, you say it is another scania, is the Renault Premium you have posyted the pic of on your facebook page just a temp truck then?
Any pictures of the new truck?
there are some pics on his facebook page, it is a blue R440 topline with a white bumper (for now, anyway)
