I weren’t expecting that to re appear!!!
I’d hoped it was on a boat heading for sunnier climbs, although to its credit, it served me well and I reckon it’ll keep going.
Bloody shame the new one ain’t as sharp, what a chuffin week I’ve had
Captain Spanky, the rhino was just to throw someone off the scent. I didn’t want everyone knowing my business until the deal was signed off. As I’d started stripping Mr V, questions were already being asked. I’m sure you know what I mean. Have you signed up for the black amber yet■■?
Yes I have a 2010 59 plate 440 showing a low 270k tidy motor, hopefully make a nice truck. 2 pedal opti cruise is a revelation. Love the 2010 cab lay out. Bitter sweet, not convinced by fuel returns or early teething probs, time will tell. As for photos, I can’t do it. If someone would like to lift one off my face ache account, be my guest.
Thanks for the kind comments and best wishes.
Just out of interest would you mind saying how much you gave for it and how much you knocked them down by, pm if you prefer or tell me it’s none of my beeswax.
Robs new motor
Lady Donna
Thanks mate. Haven’t worked out the posting photo thing since it changed a long time ago

why did you go for the 440?
from what i have heard about them, they are not the best engine, and the fuel is not that great on them, there is one company that i know, do weekly fuel figures list, posted on the notice board, when they had the R480, they were usually near the top of the list, but, since they started using the R440, the scania is at the bottom
the company run a mixed fleet of trucks, all bought brand new
and yes, i do know what you mean
hope the truck does you well Rob
oh, and as for the other question you asked…
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
really nice mate fair play,
they are a stunning truck mate lovely interior perfect driving position, and its got the best badge
sweet new motor looks tidy
Looks the bidness. I’d have that bumper painted the same as the rest of the cab though. Diamond brite chasis infil and dura’s all round and you’re good to go!

Just from what I have read on here there was a thread a couple of years ago about 440s using a little bit of oil, and a few Eddie stobart drivers complaining that they didn’t pull as well as the 420s. Think MrV was remapped though?, so I’m sure the right man with a laptop could sort out a few things there.
Looks nice be interesting to see her develop over the next couple of years. And in the nicest possible way, I’m glad you never kept the sun visor off MrV.
good bye Mr Vain
the Africans like a good paint job
and blue IS the way to go
best of luck with the new motor
Imagine that red paint job in africa?! Red fades like a mother[zb] best of times never mind in 40-50 degree sun
That makes two smart Scanias that will be missed from Norfolk’s roads, I bumped into to “AT” this weekend and his flagship was due to head north of the border yesterday.
Anyway Rob, I hope your next motor will be every bit as good as Mr.V. Best regards Haddy.
The very best of luck with the new motor Rob.
Didn’t fancy keeping the personal reg then Rob?
