Busy Mr Trump

Yep of course…Exactly…
Is that really such a surprise to you?
You speak like it is some kind of shocking revalation.

Real world stuff, blackmail, corruption, bribery, harsh realities that have always gone on behind the scenes since time immemorial in political situations, …and that has continued to make said world ‘go around’.

A routine fact taken for granted by realists, but not by the naive who take things on face value,.and actually believe the official blurb and narrative, set out only to lead us away from the true agenda of most politicians.

Summed up in 3 words…

ie
‘‘So what’s new’’.

Everything has a price and most of it is done behind closed doors, not any more according to trump, offer them nothing to start and watch them running around like headless chickens and then we pounce to get what we want and make them pay

So we can pay more to help fund the US defense do what Trump decides is OK for now?
Or pay more to do what we tell our military to do?

Either way the post cold-war spending cuts are at an end.

Anyway lets not succumb to the Trump haters and their various agendas, including the desire for his faliure…
One of em has already said he would prefer a world recession than Trump success ffs

On the face of this present scenario, and taking Ukraine out of the equation for a minute…
On the positive side Russia and the US are back on speaking terms, and it appears even a one to one is on the cards.

Diplomacy has got to be better than a Cold War situation and certainly better than WW3…
Surely nobody (even a few bitter UK truck drivers ) could not disagree with that…
However…

Does that mean that Ukraine loses a bit of land to keep Putain happy for a little while? And later the same again…and again
Until he gets his forces up to strength again, and repeats the same trick.
Putain is not afraid of sacrificing thousands of men to gain land, power, and money. He will not be voted out next year!

Putain is smiling all over his face. Trump is back and is talking to him on Putain’s terms.
The EU and others would not talk to him until he withdrew. This time he is short of ammo, men and is not doing well. he needs a break.

How about this take on things?..and she is not a gov employee so everyone is free to listen.

Basically what the yanks themselves would call “just a two bit gangster”.

Ok mate I’ll take it all back.
You obviously know much more, (and better) about politics, diplomacy and military strategy than the world’s leaders.
What was I thinking…‘I should have known better’.

This is satire BTW

The Septics will be searching & wanting all they can thieve from Ukraine rare earth minerals since the Chinese stopped all exports of tungsten gallium, germanium and antimony. The septics military are neutered without those supplies.

@Franglais
I mostly cba to read anything you put on as a link, but I broke the habit this time.

I have already pointed out to you what the rest of us already know,… politics and politicians are all about self serving gain…how many more times?

Ukraine would have been quickly defeated if it had not been from help from the West, then Putin would have benefited 100% from the spoils not least in natural resources.
‘Peace’ on those terms would not be peace, but totalitarian opression, murder and torture, the lady in your vid pointed this out.

If this war carries on as it is deaths will be off the scale even further , both sides, military AND civilian…it is already virtually a stalemate situation now as it is…it can not go on ad infinitum in this way both Putin and the West knows this, something has to change

So Trump moves in sees an opportunity to benefit,.and at the same time be seen as some kind of ‘saviour’…like I said the reality of politics and politicians.

So instead of Putin being the only and sole beneficiary, the West also get a bite of the cherry,.their conscience is (part) clear because of all the aid they have given so far thus…jobs a good un as they say.
Putin saves face, and still relatively happy with still getting something out of it.

Zelensky can not complain either, with any genuine grievance, he aint a fool also,.he knows the score, but he has to continue the charade of doing so to keep face.

Now I aint saying this is right or indeed moral, it would all be lovely as in Leftyworld if everybody was charitable, all for the good of others, and totally selfless and the birds all sang sweetly in the background.with the sun shining.
But (another) Newsflash for you.
Real life in the Real World aint like that.

So deal with it and stop wittering.
A lot of lives will be saved despite, or even because of the dubious motives.
So good prevails in the end after all,.with a much better alternative to Putins ultimate plans for the Ukraine.

OK, so

How much are we charging Ukrainians for the weapons and ammo we are sending? How much are we charging for those seeking asylum here?
Did we, like Trump ask for half of their mineral wealth before offering assistance?

I accept that the Ukrainians are helping us in the long term by stopping Putain, but the way you keep equating Trump’s transactional greed with the way other countries behave? Nah, I do not agree.

Maybe we all have a little to gain but Trump is not the same, he is a different league of selfishness.

I think not.
In the beginning, most expected Kyiv to fall very quickly, in days. It didn’t, and it took a while for the west to realise that they could indeed do summat to help. It was after Ukraine stopped Russia that the west did help.
For political reasons…well…the west has given Ukraine weapons with restrictions on their use.

True.
Russia is a financial basketcase and Ukraine is not much better.
But by Trump cosying up now, he will allow the funds to flow again for Putain.
Russia currently lacks, funds, men, ammo. Now is the time to tighten the economic ties around Russia, not release them so Trump can make a swift buck.

And stays in power and in a few years…does it all again.

In the short term lives are saved. But those already lost are lost for nowt, as Putain takes land from Ukraine.
In the long term lives are lost as he regroups and repeats.

Putain gaining land through military aggression, is “good prevailing”?

So firstly Johnson was a grade above other politicians for dishonesty and now Trump.
Both of whom you presonally hate with a passion…a pattern is emerging here.

And you think help was given to Ukraine by us was purely for charitable reasons? …maybe because we felt sorry for them.? :joy:
Jeez you are even more naive and out of touch with reality than I have accused you of being already many times on here.:flushed:

We and the rest of NATO were caught with our pants down when Putin marched into the Crimea.
He expected a similar routine type invasion in his quest to recreate the Soviet Union, and the West picked up on this.
So it followed to show Putin they were not having any of it short of declaring war.

But as I have already said…you evidently and undoubtedly know more about this than the experts.
Give them a bell and offer them the benefit of some of your sterling advice.

It makes me laugh you know how any other time the official line and agenda ‘rules over all’ with you, …but as soon as anybody you hate is involved, the out of character cynicism kicks in with you in an epic way.
Cynicism is not a trait we usually associate with you.
A kind of 2 tier vibe in fact .

Peace for our time

You couldn’t write this stuff, comedy gold.

It’s official!

The Russian invasion of Ukraine was the fault of Ukraine.
After speaking to Russia, Trump says it is clear that the invasion could have been resolved by even a half baked negotiator: all they had to do was say “Yes, sir” to Putain.

It really is easy to make seemingly complex problems much simpler, by only listening to one side.
In order to make things easier for US voters will Trump follow Putin’s lead, and offer them a choice of one candidate at the next election? Or even better: save millions by not holding elections at all?

I honestly would not be surprised if that was the case with Musk crashing his way through the system.

As an aside @franglais, is your frequent misspelling of Putin’s name (Putain) a serial typo, or, in view of your Francophone username, intended to be an insult (‘putain’) being as it is my favourite go to swearword in French?

If the latter, I thoroughly approve, but if the former, I must say I am surprised at your unaccustomed lack of keyboard dexterity.

PS Apologies if I have mentioned this before as an example of my accustomed rapidly decaying brain cells.

Yes, you have mentioned it, and although it may be a bit childish, it seems appropriate.
I’m not a real Francophone, hence the choice of name.

Is your brain really fading?
If it gets a lot worse you can stand for next Pres of the USA.

To add Gen H R McMaster (Trump’s National Security Advisor 2017) was a guest on BBC R4 Today. Listen from about 2hr09.

Yes, interesting delve into the mind of a clown, but will the old car blow up completely with the clown it before it runs amock into the spectators? :worried:

BTW, had a word with the decaying brain and the terrible spellings of accustomed, and its derivatives, now fixed. :joy:

Apart from your quote, obviously.

Back to Trump’s recent nonsense:
It is true that Zelensky’s popularity has fallen a lot recently.
It is now all the way down to 52%…most if not all western leaders would love to be that “unpopular”. Trump is on 46% I think at the moment. Putain is about 115%.
Trump’s claim of 4% is plain bollox.

Ukraine is under Martial Law, because surprise! they have a foreign army occupying some of their territory.
The constitution does not allow elections at such time. Again surprise! how would that work? With foreign troops over-seeing it?

Last year the Ukraine Parliament, knowing that Martial Law means no elections, voted for an extension of Martial Law.
No One voted to end it, in order to have an election.
