He is ignoring the promises made to Ukraine in the 90’s when they gave up their nuclear arms. He is putting up harmful trade barriers against his nearest and biggest trade partners.
He is talking of taking over land of NATO allies.
He is appeasing Putain in his violent land grab.

So a businessman did not want the Gov to give money to those who work for bad wages, in order to eat, but does want the gov to subsidise his business.
Exactly, I’ve watched a few of those types of video where the tariffs have made it much worse for these people that voted for him. We’ve taken a giant step backward to the age of robber barons and industrialists since Donald Trump became U.S. president, as he instigates global trade wars.

His rhetoric is US first, OK, fair enough, but his actions are likely to harm vast swathes of the US and other countries…the US traditional allies.
Don’t judge him by what he says he wants to achieve.
Look at his actions and work out the likely outcomes.
Trade wars don’t make anyone richer.
Giving land away to aggressors makes no one safer.
A few will gain, yes.
But not ordinary citizens of any country including the US.

I don’t think for one minute that Trump can sell a mutual agreement to stop this war overnight.
Putin is intent on re.couping old territories of the Soviet Union era, Zelensky will not favour handing over any territory, and will most probably look upon it as surrender…
On the other hand Putin realises he has bit off more than he can chew, and Zelensky has lost and is still losing a lot of his people, military and civilian.
So there is room for negotiation
I heard a guy on the radio this morning who knows more about it than any truckers/armchair politicians on here, pro or anti, …a Ukranian, an ex advisor of Zelenski no less.
He reckons this is a good move forward, both sides want peace but neither will admit it.
He also said Putin knows in his own mind that his forces with conventional weapons in conventional warfare would be no match for the US even without NATO, and that is Trumps ‘trump’ card.
He said something needs to happen as the war is almost stalemate, so as he said…it’s a start.
No doubt one or two on here will know better than this guy, so bring it on.
Personally I hope it is a succesful scenario, to stop the killing, to get the refugees back to their homes (I know a couple of them personally, good genuine people) and give the Ukrainians chance to re.build their war torn country.
But on a much more trivial sideline…to get some of you haters on this thread to shut the ■■■■ up !
