That they were dealt with quickly by the courts to act as a warning to others. You condemned that earlier but now seem in favour of hard and quick justice.
I reckon quick court appearances after the event is better than shooting off baton rounds at the time.
To recap, the sentences that were given were not just for “a few hurty words”.
They were not the trials of those who said “not guilty”. They were sentences given to those who admitted charges laid against them.
The sentences are laid in law.
You were against judicial action in Southport as being too tough .
But are for, even tougher action in the US.
It isn’t just “illegals” in the streets in Cal it is also others.
I certainly am against the burning etc but US protests do go that way more than in the UK.
It has been for State Governors to request the State Troopers if they want them, not the POTUS who decides. Trump is happy to stir things up so he show how tough he is.

I also strongly think that particularly the lady serving 30 months …ie used as an example, (who’s name escapes me) who took her post down long before her arrest, and who’s appeal was knocked back,.would never have gone to jail if she had ignored the duty solicitor’s advice, and pleaded not guilty, and went in front of a jury.
