I doubt that Sonia has air-con - not with all those sliding windows.

Lulu is worth a try:

Hello Ray, had these sent from Ade( he had probs posting them) for the attention of Leyland600 and snapped at the 100th anniversary of the Red & White started by Watts of Lydney.
Cheers

A good selection of Welsh buses Eddie…In the late 1970s, and because my PSV licence was still current,
I did a couple of journeys to factories near Bolton for Finch Coaches of Wigan in a little Bristol 35 seater,
like the one in the first two pictures of this post. It was ex Crosville from a depot in North Wales, and from
memory it had a 4LW Gardner beside me in the cab and a 5 speed gearbox. It was flat out at about 43 MPH
and didnt like going up hills. Finch Coaches are still going, albeit with double decked buses on school runs.

Cheers, Ray.

A well preserved Bedford SB5 snapped in the workshops of Weardale Motors Services when I was in there on Tuesday

Now this is the definition of a bus graveyard

Those double deck coaches must have been pricey motors in their day

Whilst I am not very keen on the latest overall multi-colour scheme of Stagecoach buses, the image
on the last picture showing just the front of a single decker looks fine.

I am not seeing the date for that article about a Blackpool PAYB Leyland other than it is a 1957 chassis, it is however definitely not the first double decker to run in service. London Transport started an 18 month experiment in 1944 with 5 vehicles: Trolleybuses 621 and 378, RT 97 and STLs 1793 and 2284.

The Arriva Sapphire single decker in the bus station is on route 362 to Chorley.

The old driver saying the Routemasters aren’t driving too modern , sound familiar ?
