I always love these photos, if it ever suited my current situation I would live on a bus in a heartbeat.
I must say though that I’m not entirely sure that it would be legal to tow a Disco on an A-frame, unless it had operational brakes while it was being towed?
Just 44mph? Is it a Bristol VR? I’m sure when I was younger and used a bus regularly they could get them up to 60mph or so. Obviously the engine was screaming its nuts off at that speed but that was part of the fun I know that was a few years ago and obviously you wouldn’t want to ruin your home but just wondering really
My abiding memory is of the smell of diesel exhaust in the back of the bus and the heating being on in the summer
brilliant read very interesting, good luck 2 ya and glad your happy , like the other post said i would be interested to hear how you get on with vosa and police i would guess you get a lot of pulls and hassle?
it shouldnt need a psv mot im sure its like a classic bus that does the rallys can be done at private garages that have the room for it or at vosa.class 7 i think or class 5
Surprisingly I have had no bother from the police During the summer I take my bike with me.
regarding the legality of towing the Landy, what about the Landy towing the bus.
This was a beautiful spot I stayed at for a week or so last summer. Thornhill Harbour.
I only fit the cat flap this week before she did it like this

The bus was £2150, I put 6 good part worn tyres on it £460, work for mot and test fee £394. road tax is £165 and insurance £200 a full service (done as a favour from Judds who use to own it) £100. So the bus is well serviced up and legal.
My main investment has been the solar panels and batteries, kitchen, bathroom I guess all told about £7000 — £9000.

Not bad considering the average house has probably dropped in value by more than that in the last 12 months alone. It’s certainly something I would do if it seemed the right option at the time, although I’ve also always fancied living in a converted railway carriage.

That’s what it has at the moment but now they have changed it to Private HGV it will need a ministry test.
