I’ve just got back to Tuxford ready for work in the morning. I took the bus up to Brighouse for the holiday.
noticed I had a water leak the day before I left Tuxford, and nearly didn’t go but risked it topping water up and keeping an eye on the temp for overnight freezing.
Stopped next to the Robin Hood, the cat seems to like it there
stopprd ther Christmas and new year but moved to Priory Rd in between.
was good to catch up with family and friends and Harvey the Lab
here I’m just filling with a ton of Yorkshire water, just asked a bloke with a hose in the pub
Just called at Ecceleshill Bradford before heading back to Tuxford.
Thanks Truckyboy, when I first mentioned the idea folk thought I was mad. This has been my second winter living on the bus and have to say it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.
I’m getting sorted inside too. My solar panels arn’t quiet keeping up at the moment but I’m keeping the genny use down to about 6hours a week.
I would rather be working just part time, but enjoying the work down at Walkers and its handy to park wagon at side of the bus, keeps the commuting down lol
Life is totaly stress free. Rather than envey though, I hope it gives a bit of insperation. I’ve dreamed about this for the last 15 years, after splitting with the wife last year it just seemed the right time to do it. At the moment I cannot see me ever living ‘normally’ again

Forgive me for asking, might sound daft.
Do you need a bus licence to drive it? I.e category D?
When I bought the bus it was a standard 74 seater. As it was over 30 years old it could be driven on a car licence on the condition that no more than 8 passengers are carried. It now has just 1 and DVLA have changed it to private HGV.
Its going to be comical when it comes to the next mot I have a feeling it will need a tacho fitted even though it wont be used. Don’t know hoe they would calibrate it, it only does 44mph.

I only found this out myself recently but as it is over 25 years old it counts as a historic vehicle and is therefore completely tacho exempt.
