Burn me for being nice to agency drivers

bigvern1:
I got hassled by a group of drivers at a place years ago, because I was making the full timers look bad. They actually asked me to slow down. Guess my answer. Paid for 8 hours minimum, even when it took me 3 hours to do my “round.”

Commonly known in the business as ‘‘■■■■ ing a job up for everybody else’’ :bulb: :unamused:

contraflow possibly the biggest wind up merchant on here teaming up with 2 stobrat drivers, I would rather be agency than work for stobrats.

must be great having the high road as a full time employee whilst earning £8 an hour :unamused:

This! And with stobarts pay wont be long before the only carrier bag they will afford is the one from the local food bank

Play nicely children or there will be no sweeties

One or two on this thread have sense of humour issues I reckon :unamused:
Don’t take stuff too seriously ffs :unamused:
btw It’s Contraflow’s JOB on here to wind people up, do you not know that yet

I don’t [zb] up a job that’s ■■■■ easy in the 1st place. If the morons take 8 hours to do a ■■■■ easy job that only takes 3, that’s their perogative. I don’t need 8 hrs when 3 will do and get paid the same! Generally to wind people up…You’re supposed to be good at it as a rule.

Im a ageny driver by choice I work when I want take my holidays when I want work for the companys I want

Are they different to agency then, or just normal agency minus the punctuation?

agree on the CF part but my sense of humour is ok normally, however I was always of a people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones upbringing.

You get more money on agency than all that paye that drivers who work for a company get [emoji106][emoji23]

Yeh but it aint your perogative to decide that they are morons and to decide you know better than whoever laid out the format and conditions of the job is it. The boss was presumably happy with the rate and the drivers were getting plenty time to do it without having to go like ■■■■, so they and the customer were likely also happy.
Of course you ■■■■ ed it up, say for instance they had 8 drops and allowed half hour per drop, you come in and do it in 3 hours to their 8 so their boss says ‘hey lads only giving you 5 mins per drop now as Big Vern has shaved 5 hours off your job’ so instead of checking the drops and quantities, and doing it at a safe pace, they now need to teararse round like ■■■■■■ idiots making mistakes and being less safe …ie ■■■■■■■ it up.

Drivers like you just spoil a good job then you ■■■■ off to the next one and the regulars are left to pick up the pieces :unamused:
This is why we get tight arsed deadlines and why planners push drivers.

Now…Who said anything about tear-arsing around? :unamused: People taking the ■■■■ and getting found out wreck the job.

" Contraflow and 2 Stobart drivers teaming up ". And what a team it is. Humour, looks , intelligence.( And that’s just the ape ).

Absolute dream team. Lets weigh up the opposition. Hmmn. £8 per hour claim from war1974. Funny that, because its £8.38 plus £15 per day tax free. So war has been eliminated from the contest, in view of his talking of ■■■■■■■■.

Now lets have a look at the other clown m_att. A mat is there for one to wipe their feet on. Fancy being named after something you walk all over. KO blow for the red corner.

It not so much the agencies that take the pee, as the companies themselves and one of the reasons agencies struggle to retain drivers on their books. At the moment I am doing agency work as it still the main holiday season and lots of folks are away at companies. Very few places show you the truck properly, or spend any time explaining their paperwork, or give any information on drops etc. You are just left to it, with very little input or help. Couple of weeks ago I had a days work and a truck with virtually no fuel in it. Asked where I filled up with diesel, to be told there is a fuel card in the cab. Yep I explained I have found that, but no map of where these fuel stations are and I need to fill it up pronto as below quarter of a tank. This is the sort of muppetry you have to contend with.

I’ve never had trouble with not having been shown the truck properly – with one or two exceptions (e.g. the hill start system on recent Scania manual gearboxes), they all work pretty much the same nowadays – but not being shown the equipment. In my case, Hiabs. The number of times I’ve embarrassed myself because a Hiab had a peculiar feature that the boss didn’t bother to tell me about – this week it was an old Fassi on which the controls locked up because I overreached it. Since I’d not been told this is what happens (rather than beeping or just the crane refusing to move), I assumed it was a mechanical fault and called the repair people out. I’ve never had a chance to familiarise myself with any particular make or model (I think HMFs are the type I’ve used longest, just).

You muppet. This is England; we’re not supposed to be productive.

You’re better suited to a country like Germany. They like your kind there. :unamused:

As they used to say in the Fatherland…“arbeit macht frei” I disagree.

Yeah man, I used to run bread in Cornwall for Kingsmill for agency, in at 5am do the round, well and safely, back by usually 9am, paid for eight hours . … . the full timers hated it!! . . .

I’m full time now as need the stability with kids n that, not with Kingsmill I hasten to add,

I remember in the 80s a guy came in on holiday relief and totally ■■■■■■ up a job for a guy I knew. This guy was not to be tangled with and was built like a brick ■■■■ house, When he got back off his fortnights hol, he got the 'why can’t you 'etc etc off his guvnor, so he saw red and was out to get this smart arse. To cut a long story short the fella ended up being wedged head first in a long narrow litter bin, stuck fast and screaming for help.

Eventually your start to think why takepride in your work if all the staff can muster is dignity. Crimes .two hour in a layby …next. Cowboy outfit pullleeez

Contraflow you are a Muppet
