British road Services

Thanks anyway

Can anyone recognuse this depot? The 2 AECs are Swansea based but the depot sign ends in BE. The only depots I think in the area were Swansea. Bridgend, Skewen and LLanelly. There’s quite a mix of vehicles in the yard so may be the sign is of another Road Services?

High Wycombe is the only depot ending in the letters BE (if the sign on the bus is correct) and the landscape looks right ?

Good detection but I don’t think it is. High Wycombe was a long thin depot built on the old railway sidings and had a short ramp up from the road.

It looks like high Wycombe to be , but I thought the workshops were by the gate and the other end was truck park and later on coachs and a truck wash , but we are talking 80/90s .

Does anybody remember Bob Parkinson who was my partner’s dad. She Believes he was based at Preston and drove for BRS in the 70’s and earlier.

Starting to copy some old(ish) slides.
Just posted on the Caledonian forum.
An unusually untidy SRS Dumfries Guy, awaiting a backload at NEBRS Darlington

Worked with a Frank Parkinson at Containerway & Roadferry at Preston in the 70s, and his brother Colin.

The bus in the background is an old Bristol Tramways bus and three of them went to Dock Road depot Newport in 1952 straight from the bus company. Why would a BRS depot want three double decker buses.
Cheers Phil.

New canteen?

The buses would be used to round up all the drivers working dodgies I guess?

Pete.

Why does nobody believe me/
And they couldn’t have been BRS pigs, a) they were doing over 21mph and b) they would have been painted red with rusty trotters.
