hiya,
Norm hope he’s taken a 44 tonner over with him he’ll get a few bob’s worth of Toblerone on that and hope he can still remember how to rope and sheet, bit late in the day for me to fly over to show him how to go on.
thanks harry long retired.

Couldn’t find an AEC MK5 Mandator plated for 44t Harry or I would have tekken one over.
Plenty of snow on t’tops in Swiss by the way.Went to see my bank manager in Zurich and deposited all my dodgy neet out money in a new account, there’s nowt like being a dual-country tax exile
hiya,
Chris 44 tons on a Mandator no problem, have done a bit more weight with one of them it was converted to a six wheel double drive outfit though but the same AEC engine and dragging a lowloader, you’d have got a canny dollop of Toblerone on that old girl and would have got there (slowly).
thanks harry long retired.

Hi Harry,
It’s a good job the weather has cooled down, otherwise the toblerone would melt on Chris’s Mandator.I wonder does Chris talk about lorries when him and Nigel Mansell have a pint chatting about their money saved from living in a tax haven.

Cheers Dave.

hiya,
No doubt they do Dave, but according to Chris it costs very little to live in the IOM so maybe he’s really skint, he once remarked that if he could afford to reside over there so could I, that would be nice because i can barely afford to live in a garden shed up this way, I think he was just trying to make me feel better.

Hi Harry,
You are lucky to have a garden shed,we are still in cave’s in this area. Seriously I don’t know a lot about the IOM apart from the TT races and a few bits about Manx Cats, would imagine its a good place to live,we could do with some of their discipline over here to square some of them up.
Cheers Dave.
You red & rust old boys I have not taken anything, I had my day at skeggy, very nice, then I had sky fit a “New” HD box, working like a slave in the garden, managed to watch the derby, bet three horses, Bullit train £10 ew, spencers mount £5ew, down the pan, lucky I also put £2 ew on the second horse at 150- 1, it got me right out of the manure, then Saturday I had a bit of a cold and with my asthma I could hardly breath, but I am feeling a lot better.

Mansell doesn’t live here now,Clarkson does though, can’t remember his second name.
I am really skint, honest.I’d have to go next door to gas mesen things are that bad.
I’ve sent two pallets of Toblerone on the ferry to Heysham, maybe one of our Lancs lads would collect it for you all.The IOM is full of bloody bikes,TT week. The weather hasn’t been too bad but it looks dodgy for tomorrow so ale and leather will be the aroma wafting about.I’ll tek some pics and put them on for you when I can find time
.
This is our house, not much better than a garden shed Harry although it’s got a nice sea view.

I told you I was skint and now the roof wants thatching

hiya,
Chris is there room for the Mandator to be parked, and don’t be too bothered about the thatching, a rope and sheet expert can make that watertight, i’m available 24 hrs a day and capable of up to three high and a binder, and i hasten too add very cheap, specify BRS sheets though everybody else used to nick them, nice drum.
thanks harry long retired.
Boris if you have got some photo’s to show or interesting comment, we will answer them, but we have not been on here as a five minute wonder, we have photo’s p0sted and talked our heads off about our times on BRS, we have a nice bunch of lads, who just like to keep the thread going, we have been doing it for overtwo years, you may be a wind up merchant, tell you boris it don,t work on us, if you are not, you must only be living in Northampton, for you are not a true Northamptonian, how do I know, because I am, and I am not a misable so-so that would make such comments about people you do not know, so I am hoping your are a failed windup merchant like we had the pleasure to meet on these threads before.
, yes Harry I am hoping I will be in good health to be at the Brs show on July 4th, and even on the 3rd, you will have to send me a private message telling me where you are stopping, the address and phone number, and if you are feeling generous, you can give me your credit card number.

Yer can’t beat a bit of nostalgia…
Scunthorpe BRS were still running these in the 60s.

And a BRS AEC MK5 MM in Briton Ferry Steel livery.

And I’ve posted this before but a great photo, taken on Beattock of an Albion HD.You could get out and check yer ropes and count yer wheelnuts without stopping.

From Peter Davies books.
hiya,
Now then the thread is spot on again thanks to you lads, Frenchy will be chuffed, i’m determined to learn how to post pics and then i can call myself a proper “trucknetter” instead of looking at other peoples pics and not giving anything back in return, i am a bit of a thicko though.
thanks harry long retired.

hiya,
Chris this pic bring back memories i used to do similar work but using a bog standard dyson trailer the downside being you had to load a full backload and not just the legger and pull a natty little dolly back, used to see the Scunny lads about frequently and they always seemed to be returning empty, happy days.
