Hello Frenchy,
Another Bristol depot you may have visited was Days Road. Here is a Bristol parked in the road outside ,the Bunch of Grapes pub behind. These alluminium ingots came from Avonmouth docks and I think they went on to the Alcan factory.
The flat road from the docks to the depot would make it easy to pull the trailer. If you approached the depot from the other way the road came over a bridge behind the railway engine shed and past a big gasholder that loomed over the BRS depot. I worked with a driver who used to drive the Bristol,s on a job collecting cement from the midlands. The bags were
still warm and he used to put two bags in the cab to act as a heater.
Hello Keith where have you been hiding, you and Harry make a good pair, I am glad old Harry has unlocked his wallet and getting back on theses threads. what with Frenchy popping in, it is like having several easters all at the same time, only Jesus is suppose to come back .
Hi boys
Norm don’t worry about me, I keep putting my head over the wall to keep an eye on you lot.Maybe we should have a wipround to help get Harry back on air
harry_gill:
hiya,
New computer ordered should be back in business
shortly if i can remember how to go on.
thanks harry long retired.
Good on you Harry. You have been much missed on these threads. I know, like us all you could well do without the expense of having to buy a new computer, but I would do the same,if mine packs up,I would buy another. I get a lot of enjoyment coming on here for the craic with blokes like yourself and the rest. Look forward to seeing you back Harry.
Cheers Dave.
hiya,
Chris there are jobs going over there mucking out the aforementioned cuckoo clocks, don’t forget your gloves and mask cuckoo pooh is very toxic, enjoy your hols, one tax haven to another bit like a busmans holiday eh.
thanks harry long retired.
Harry do you think we should tell Chris he does not need to go to the alps to buy chocolates, he can get them at the supermarket. But he is probaly trying to spend some of that ill gotten gains he recieved from those transport firms for all the jobs he has been passing on to you and me!
hiya,
Norm hope he’s taken a 44 tonner over with him he’ll get a few bob’s worth of Toblerone on that and hope he can still remember how to rope and sheet, bit late in the day for me to fly over to show him how to go on.
thanks harry long retired.

He had better put it in a tanker Harry, with this hot weather thats due from tomorrow onwards.
Cheers Dave.
hiya,
Well Dave, Chris won’t have any problems with the tanker side of things he’d certainly be able to teach me a thing or two with them things, I had a go with the tankers in the early 70s but got the chance to go back to the “red and rust” and even with the roping and sheeting it was no contest there was sparks off my boots going back there.
thanks harry long retired.
I can tell you boys, it is very cold on the top of them alps, no way will the chocolate melt, anyway nice to see you back Harry, I think old Frenchy must be knackered, for he only comes in for short comments, either that or the chap is getting tight in his latter years and saving on the eletricity, this only started when he moved house, perhaps he was plugged in to his neighbour, and now he has none. but it makes you think
hiya,
Don’t worry about Frenchy Norm, he’ll be looking in and will sharp intervene if we make too much of a muck up of his thread, it’s still quite a strong one and so long as the lads keep freshening it up bits and bobs he’ll be happy as will we.
thanks harry long retired.
Is it me or has this thread just turned into yet another old womens chat line for the ‘clicky’ old ■■■■■ ,yes the ones who ignore the relevent subject comments/contributions from the less well known members & just carry on rambling their own boring claptrap to each other
