hiya,
Dave, old Norm doesn’t need the money, he’s got no place to store it anyway, and being the gentleman that he is he would most likely tell them to post it to me cos he knows i’m a needy case, but i aint holding my breath, but looking on the bright side Chris keeps finding me a bit of shunting work to keep the wolf from the door and i’m happy with that, daren’t tell him my licence has run out though.
thanks harry long retired.
Don’t worry about a licence Harry, just go and tip this and then load it for the night man,I’ll pay you 8 hours seeing as you are skint.
I don’t ever remember seeing a BRS Guy (lorry not driver
)as old as this,I’m not sure if it’s an Otter or a Vixen,if either.
I wonder which cafe it is? There’s one thing for sure that old wagon will be well rested when t’driver comes out.

Ive seen that pic somewere before, i think the cafe was “Mays” - down Bagshot way iirc
hiya,
Chris this 8 hours business is it the rate when that old girl was on the road or present day money, would like to know cos i’ll know whether to stay in bed or not, been to the Barnard Castle truckshow today plenty to see but not much elderly stuff and no red and rusters which was a bit disappointing was just by myself so did things at my own speed, shades of a typical BRS driver, met a guy who puts stuff on here the model guy goes under the name of Lonewolf and we had a litte chat was exhibiting his models nice stuff too, anyway do i ring when empty? or is it worth getting out of bed?.
thanks harry long retired.

Sorry Harry, stay in bed if that’s how you feel, should be the old rate, times is 'ard but seeing as you are my top driver,I’ll up it a bit and make it a florin an hour, that’s 16 bob,it’s up to you.
Now Suedehead thinks the cafe was near Bagshot so when you are tipped nip
to Laportes at Redhill and load 15 ton of Fullers Earth for Sheffield.
Well,Bagshot is in Surrey and Redhill is Sussex and they join each other don’t they so it can’t be far.Bring it back to the yard and I’ll take it up to Sheffield tonight 'cos I live there and I know where the drop is.Just drop that Guy off and shove a MK5 Mandator under and make sure it’s got a six-speed box and the 690 lump.
Don’t forget t’dog clip and t’trailer number plate.
Lonewolf is a Yorkshire lad from round Malton way so he’'ll be as straight as the Fosse Way if you want to buy owt off him.
Just don’t tell him you’re a Lancs lad.
hiya,
wow Chris a florin an hour thats three hapence more than Harrisons are paying i’ll do it, you know it makes sense you’ve got to make a fuss of your star driver,i was talking to a Shefield driver today he was over retirement age but still punching them about he said he had worked for Harrisons years ago, i think he thought i was a Geordie cos he did’nt shoot me, but 14 ton on that rig Chris pretty sure it’s only 12 single axle trailer and we are BRS we can’t work bent, can we? i’d sooner have the mandator to go off with old Norm can go sand wobbling with the Guy he’s a lot harder than me, i’m just a ■■■■■ cat and need to be spoiled.
thanks harry long retired.
It came down from Manchester like that Harry and I’ve had a word with Cheetham Hill about it
.
Just go and tip it and come back here empty, clock off and get yersen a pint or two. There’s a feller called Norman waiting for you in t’pub.
I’ll send this to Laportes instead.

hiya,
like that last pic Chris typical BRS uniform to think i was smart like that once, i’d love a go in that, now the serious stuff i’ll need a pay rise if you want me to go boozing with old Norm you know as well i do i’ll have to buy the beer, bet he does’nt realise that pound notes are no longer legal tender and he’s got more of them than Bubbleman has pictures on his thread, i’m just pleased he has’nt invited me onto his “how to be a miser course” i’d hate to be miserable.
thanks harry long retired.
Harry, I am not tight, I once got arrested for breaking into a pound note, but they let me off, for it was my first offence Ha Ha Ha . Sandman Norman

Norman,I hope you aren’t that tight that you’d go next door to gas yersen
.
No chris, if I had enough of life, I would ask harry yo use his oven.
hiya,
Norm if you ever get tired of life let me know in good time, i’ll have to construct an electic chair i’ve got no gas.
thanks harry long retired.
Thanks mate, you are a great help, but you are likely to run out of shillings.
hiya,
Norm if you want to use my leccy no problem i pay by direct debit and i’m quids up seemingly i’ve been paying too much and you can have the
“Last Surge With Me”
thanks harry long retired.
Harry, you are so kind, you make me weep, spending all of your hard earned money on me, to help send me on my way, but I must decline your offer, as I would find it too shocking to contenplate , for at the moment, I feel so young. Sandman Norman
My first BRS truck in 1965 at Tufnell Park Depot in London, doing a load for Chris on the desk. I was Bristol based.
Now then Harry and Norman,we’ll never get owt done if you carry on like this.
Get down to Canada dock and load some timber and owt for Welsh Wales you’d better take Harry seeing as you can speak the lingo.
If you are struggling take Dave with you to translate.
I don’t think there will be a load for Iran Norman but you can take the only Middle East East load - Lincoln

Bora Da Chris, I am game, can Harry be my lorry boy, the I can tell him to get knotted, boom, boom. Sandman Norman PS nice photo’s
By ■■■■ Chris you are cracking the whip on Harry and Norm,if they get a tug from the wheeltappers they could be for the highjump. Me as an interpreter,no chance, they can’t understand me in my own village.
Cheers Dave.

It’ll keep 'em out of mischief Dave and a bit of pocket money would buy them a pint or two so they could burn some diesel in t’pub
.
I wonder which wagons they would choose out of that lot?
One of the old Leylands at the back, nearest the ship I would think Chris. Those ergnomatic cabs would make them a bit claustrophobic… THats a great pic, you wouldn’t see anything like that now.
Cheers Dave.
