I understand perfectly how it works as I know and have served with enough of them! I think it is you who is struggling to understand! You are right in 1 thing though in that halliburton does indeed exist and sold off that part off KBR who have since gone on to lose the contract.
Ok, we’re getting somewhere!! Who has the contract now the if KBR don’t have it?
When they deploy on ops, Sponsored Reserves (SR). Under Part V of the Reserve Forces Act 1996 (RFA 96), SR have special liabilities for reserve service, military training and call out. And will delpoy as normal soldiers ie carry weapons and all
that intales.
2 companies, Dyncorp and Fluor (whoever they are).
This next bit is all in the link that I put on here earlier.
The sponsored reservists in the advert are for a company called fastrax who were set up to buy the HET and supply all the training etc etc etc and sponsored reservists.

46k a year (typically). Althougth to be honest that site reads like a HGV training brokers site!!! No guns, bang bang !!!
If you sign on to the TA as is required in this case, when you are deployed to an operational theatre you will be deployed as a TA solider, with all the trimmings. Otherwise there would be no requirement to sign on as a reservist. You would be deployed as civilian contractors.
The reason KBR drivers did not get armed is because they were not deployed as soldiers, they were civilians working on a contract basis for the MOD.
Exactly the same as most MT departments in the forces now, they are run by a company called VT (i think) and they are civilians…in the event of a war they would not be armed.
