is it true these guys have pulled out of the carpet deliveries in the UK? if so when? does anyone know what happened to all their double ended trailers because i could do with picking one up at a decent price.

Yes it’s true, was announced about 2 weeks ago.

I understand it was the Belgian company that has shut down,I presume the trailers are in Belgium somewhere.

Yes they have I heard bout it before Christmas , verhoek are doing the work using some of the Brit European trailers

We serviced their moffets and that all finished about two weeks ago, I took the last four to their depot near Crewe.

Will have been, all in black tall guy and had a girl out the office with him, she thought she was going with me

That was a bloody good job all round when it was ran from Zeebie.
I was on it for 2yrs in 2007 when they took the Rosyth/Zeebie ferry off and made redundant when it was put back on again 2yrs later when they stopped shipping out the Scotch traffic through Hull and back on the Rosyth boat.

The start of the downward route was when they lost the fridge work, then a few years later when they stopped running the Belgian units in UK a lot of the established Brit drivers jacked in as the job and wages turned to ■■■■.
Then afaik they started as an agency.
Nothing lasts forever in this business, …I learned that a long time ago, so if you have a good job look after it ! :bulb:

Are they on the way out then??

My late Dad worked for them years ago, I remember when they opened their 4th depot, in Trowbridge,
then later they started closing them, London was first to go, That’s where my Dad was the Night Trunker,
Later on they moved the head office from Stoke-on-Trent to Crewe,
Bill & Ron Carman will be turning in their graves,

No Hull/Zeebrugge mate. Had a few pints on the boat with your lads a few times. On one occasion one of your lads was wearing a maroon Brit European UK polo shirt in the bar, we got talking and I mentioned that us at Zeebie did not get them, or any other uniform item. Next morning when we docked he pulled along side me at the quay, and chucked a brand new in the bag polo through my window. …wasn’t you was it?
