If Verhoek has taken all the work, have they also taken all the drivers. Are they running the operation from Holland or opened a depot/distribution centre in Belgium.
What about Crones, have they also got a bite of the Brit Euro work cherry?
Thanks for the information
Verhoek applied for a new operator’s licence in December for 20 units & 20 trls to be based in Wakefield. It must have been granted as they are advertising for drivers in Transport News for their new Wakefield depot delivering carpets and associated products around the UK.

Have you got a link. The only Transport News I can find on line is a Scottish mag.
EDIT.; just seen it.
I was on for Brits in the good old days, when Bob Matthews and I were doing Baghdad together.

That would, and before that they were maroon with cream writing and ran as Carmans Transport, Marwin Transport & Riley Transport, on the Units (depending on depot)
Carmans were the Stoke on Trent & Trowbridge depots,
Marwins were London E14,
and Riley depot was at Felixestow
The trailers were Maroon Flats,
or Maroon Tilts with blue sheets & were livered BIT BET,
Braams International, Brit European,
Can recall seeing a Brit Euro driver in the baccy shop at Alverinhem(spolling) on a regular basis.
Man w+d tilt on the carpet run.
I thought i was hard done by, driving a Eurotech.
Dad spent his last yrs driving with BET, on Tanks his boss was Roy Jones ( Naughty Boy ) and Ken Goodwin was on the sugar Tanks. He really enjoyed his time there, he then had a massive heart atack and had his license taken off him . Went and lived on a narrow boat till he passed. Can,t think of the other diver from Warrington who was on tank aswell, photo of his motor on the Stoke thread and tanker thread

No I was long gone then.
Bob Matthews and I in the Taurus mountains southern Turkey on the way home from Baghdad, engine problem with Bob’s motor.
We used a lot of Eurofleet tilts and boxes in those days.

Great photos, wish I had taken more or that he had taken photo on his travels . Started at BET with a Merc then got his MAN reg B 425 that’s all I can remember . He started with a small company called Fridgelink then moved to Andrews & Bond running out of S. Ireland, he did enjoy his driving days ( as so many say Good Old Days) and I spent so much time as a kid going with him

Dave Penn;
Rang Verhoek today in Holland for a job. (btw… spoke to a smooth lovely sounding Dutch bird on the phone, thought she sounded just like my Mrs did before she lost the accent…) anyway I digress.
I told her I had just what she wanted (in the advert btw ) clean licence, left hand.drive exp, moffit exp, carpet delivery exp, all sounded promising until I told her I was in ■■■■■■■■ She said I could not be home based as I was when at Brit European, but if I was willing to travel weekly to Wakefield there was more than likely a job for me… subject to formal interview.
So I said thanks but no thanks. If I did not already have a job locally I would have done it, but hey, anybody on here with similar type exp, there are jobs there.
