Brexit stuff in one place [MERGED]

Also not concerned with the OAP in Manchester, the teacher in Leeds, the cleaner in Norwich etc. Not concerned that the rights and freedoms of your compatriots have been stolen from them, their hopes and dreams and ambitions. Not concerned that the life savings of millions have been slashed in value. Not concerned that the economy is in the tank. “I’m all right, Jack, I got a 50p per hour pay-rise”

Yeah because Brexit has really done that to all the waffle you have just written there!

P.S my pay went up considerably more than 50p an hour as well as over £3000 in bonuses thanks to Brexit so my kids and partner are eternally grateful and they will always come first over anything else as far as my priority goes.

The estimated cost of Brexit, per family, in the UK is £3,600 per year. So the one-off “bonus” you enjoyed has already been swallowed up. The £350,000,000 per week you were promised would go to the NHS did not materialise, and never will (it was a lie, and you were duped)
You have stolen from your children their rights and opportunities and freedoms. For an Xbox and a week at Centreparks.
Tell me, what freedoms you have won? What has this “sovreignty” given you?

I didn’t vote for Brexit simply based on the propaganda bus and the NHS - anyone could see that for what it was … propaganda. As for the rest of the waffle you’ve posted about my children’s freedoms etc well it’s exactly that - waffle, because you didn’t get your own way.

Thanks to my bonuses and pay rises I have a bit of spare change laying around so could send some materials your way, that is if want to make yourself a navy blue and yellow hankerchief to cry into?

When you say your bank account is much more , is that taking into the substantial rise in price of everything ( I’m not saying it’s brexit related ) , but gas/ elec was £66 pm , now £147 pm , petrol/ diesel nearly doubled in price , food , bloke next door cost his extension at £14,000 ( he’s a builder ) , nigh on doubled in cost though rise in price of materials
I don’t disagree we had decent pay rises , but the rise in costs of everything has more than eaten that away , will you be getting £3000 in bonuses this year .
I’ve had 5% ( £1 ph ) pay rise , but even 10 % ( £2 ph ) wouldn’t get near covering the rise in costs of everything , that’s why every man & his dog is on about going on strike
I voted remain , brexit doesn’t bother me now , but the pay rises we had though nice are more than being eaten up at the moment , the butter we buy was £2.50 , now £4.50 , cat food was £3 per pack , now £4.25 , lamb chops were £5 , now £6.25
As I say pay rises were nice but mine arnt covering the rises in prices of stuff , not by a country mile
I can live with it , 61 , everything paid for , but it must be really hurting young families with mortgage / kids , I feel sorry for them

Yeah but virtually none of the things you’ve written above are because of Brexit so not really sure the relevance. Fair comment about the bonus - maybe we will get another one of some kind but a good chance we won’t but the rest if your point is irrelevant in relation to this thread.

I used to get along OK with my neighbour, there was a gap in the garden fence, our kids used to come and go, and play with each other. I decided that we needed a gate, to stop that sort of thing, and to take back control. Now my neighbour refuses to open the gate when my kids want to play in his garden.

Wow!
We’ve got our very own Trucknet JC sharing his parables. :open_mouth:
Have you got a one about a group of whingers who go on and on (and on :unamused: ) about something they don’t like and can’t accept?
Keep us posted.
Praise be.

Today, because of Brexit, our kids have lost the right to travel freely in the EU.
They have lost the right to work there.
They won`t have their educational achievements recognised as before.

That is NOT waffle [sic].

I just checked in to see if this “debate” is still ongoing. Brexit has been, and is a disaster. We told you it would be. You were warned. But you listened to obvious idiots like Farage. You listened to Michael Gove. (“We’ve had enough of experts”). You listened to Rees-Mogg. You believed that Boris Johnson actually wanted Brexit. You ignored and overlooked the corruption. You continue to buy and read the Express and the Mail and the Sun. You search for the “benefits” of Brexit, and find none. You are now choosing as MY prime Minister one of a Tufton St liar, an air-head who can’t find a door, and a right-wing robot who has pledged allegiance to a foreign country and who is married to one of the wealthiest people in the world. Whichever of these becomes MY prime Minister, who is going to hold the great offices of state? Chancellor of the Exchequer? Home Secretary? Foreign Secretary? What deals have been done behind the scenes? Do these people represent you? Is this democracy?

Speak for yourself but Brexit hasn’t been a disaster for me. Other than my bank account each month being much greater than it was before I haven’t noticed anything in my day to day life that has changed that can be put down to the B word.

Prices are going through the roof here in Australia … we don’t have a deal with the EU … it’s a scam to claw back all spent on covid …. And keep the rich richer and poor poorer…

They have not lost the right to travel freely, they just can’t stay longer than a set time … grow up, crying over the EU … if it is so precious you had the chance to move to the EU …

What?!

Pre Brexit they could study in the EU, and travel in the EU, and work summer jobs etc freely ie, no time limits nor visa restraints.
Today they cannot.
That is a loss. If it isn`t please explain how so.

discoman:
here in Australia … we don’t have a deal with the EU …

No, not a FTA as such. Yet.

“Australia and the European Union (EU) launched negotiations for a free trade agreement (FTA) on 18 June 2018. As a bloc, the EU is a massive, high-income market of almost 450 million people with a GDP of around US15 trillion. It is Australia’s second largest trading partner and second largest source of foreign investment1.”
dfat.gov.au/trade/agreement … ta/default

The Aus Gov sees the importance of a FTA with thw EU and is negotiating one, as the UK goes in the opposite direction.

All over the world FTAs are being negotiated and signed. One country seems to want to do the opposite.
A country now with a bleak economic forecast

Brexit is a mistake. Face the fact that you and others have fallen for the lies.
Falling for a lie is something we all do sometimes. Sticking fingers in our ears and going “la la la” is for kids.

Must have missed that part on the news about France building a drawbridge at Calais to stop us coming in now that we have left the EU! :unamused:

I also think it is disgusting that Easyjet, RyanAir and the other airlines are still offering flights into Europe when we are banned. Surely they can be done by trading standards for that?

I find this (endless) thread totally fscinating you know
In respect of the fact that most of us during the process of growing into adulthood have learned that Mick Jagger was right all along (‘‘You can’t always get what ya want’’) .

Prior to that we would stand there in short kecks with a miserable look on our dials, with bottom lip stuck right out,.and sulking if we failed to get our own way on things, but as we got older we kinda accepted that life is full of disappointments…some on here have failed to deal with that concept however.

That is one of the ‘‘aspects of fascination’’, the other is the absolute stone cold evident bitterness reflected in some of these guy’s posts, :open_mouth: … you can here them actually seething as they seek to ridicule those with an alternative view on this subject,.and attempt to belittle them with accusations blaming them for every ■■■■ thing that has gone wrong with the world, (relevant to the topic or not btw) it’s as if they have to vent their anger to make themselves better about themselves,.and the situation that they are unhappy with…Absolute comedy gold to the rest of us  …to which they are totally and utterly oblivious to btw :bulb: which makes it even funnier as they keep digging.

We have Frangers with one of his many obsessions,.we have the One trick pony poster, (every post Brexit related)…our mate Herr Kloss who would have Brexit as his specialist subject if he was on Mastermind  …,.and then the ‘piece de resistance’ Rodders, in all this, the creme de la menthe (yeh I know it’s ‘creme’) of bitter remoaners, the new kid on the block Mr Wacky Wackou… :unamused:

The Trucknet 3 Brexit Stooges…any more contenders anybody?

In the meantime I’ll just continue to periodically poke these 3 bears with a stick,.and observe the forthcoming petulance with great amusement and wonder.
I thank you. :sunglasses:

We have had Brexit.
No one is saying otherwise.

Some of us have our eyes open and can see what is happening, and are discussing it.

Again, I suggest that you try reading what is being said here, and not comment on what you imagine is being said.
This is similar to politicians` habits of answering the question they wanted to be asked, rather than the one that was actually asked.
