Sticking fingers in our ears and going “la la la” is for kids.
The irony of Franglais coming out with this gem!
We have had Brexit.
No one is saying otherwise.
Some of us have our eyes open and can see what is happening, and are crying about it.
Again, I suggest that you try reading what is being said here, and not comment on what you imagine is being said.
This is similar to politicians` habits of answering the question they wanted to be asked, rather than the one that was actually asked.
Just made a little amendment above there in red for you.
Well, I think it is a crying shame that our kids, and the rest of us adults too, don`t have the same freedoms we had a couple of years ago.
I will file your comment with this little gem:

Nice that we have “taken back control” and are as free as we ever were…according to some, anyway.
Do any of us think the French are being too strict with Their border controls?
Should we take them to court? That court we don`t want to recognise of course…
What could possibly go wrong with us wanting to leave the EU and become a third country?
What freedom of movement have we lost?
Hey, some of us are dexterous have fingers in our ears, and hands over our eyes! No wonder there is no brain left for them to think!

here in Australia … we don’t have a deal with the EU …
No, not a FTA as such. Yet.
“Australia and the European Union (EU) launched negotiations for a free trade agreement (FTA) on 18 June 2018. As a bloc, the EU is a massive, high-income market of almost 450 million people with a GDP of around US15 trillion. It is Australia’s second largest trading partner and second largest source of foreign investment1.” dfat.gov.au/trade/agreement … ta/default
The Aus Gov sees the importance of a FTA with thw EU and is negotiating one, as the UK goes in the opposite direction.
All over the world FTAs are being negotiated and signed. One country seems to want to do the opposite.

Brexit is a mistake. Face the fact that you and others have fallen for the lies.
Falling for a lie is something we all do sometimes. Sticking fingers in our ears and going “la la la” is for kids.
Well, we have a FTA with the UK … and now the cheddar cheese I buy from costco … which comes from the uk is now cheaper… I didn’t fall for any lies … I didn’t care if they remain or leave … purely because I was entitled to a passport from an EU country due to grandparent … so I am free to come and go as I wish
… my children have just got Irish passports via there mother … so it really doesn’t affect me … simple point being made is … people can still travel and live in country of choice just harder …
Please do not quote a paper as a source, as they all have an agenda to the reader…
Ie then sun readers are as right as the mirror lefties …. Both sides had a vote and leave won … whether me you or bob like it ,… the vote was democratic , you have to accept it … but you are like the Germans who can’t accept the ball crossed the line … move on life’s to short to worry about the UK leaving,

I find this (endless) thread totally fscinating you know
In respect of the fact that most of us during the process of growing into adulthood have learned that Mick Jagger was right all along (‘‘You can’t always get what ya want’’) .
Prior to that we would stand there in short kecks with a miserable look on our dials, with bottom lip stuck right out,.and sulking if we failed to get our own way on things, but as we got older we kinda accepted that life is full of disappointments…some on here have failed to deal with that concept however.
That is one of the ‘‘aspects of fascination’’, the other is the absolute stone cold evident bitterness reflected in some of these guy’s posts, … you can here them actually seething as they seek to ridicule those with an alternative view on this subject,.and attempt to belittle them with accusations blaming them for every [zb] thing that has gone wrong with the world, (relevant to the topic or not btw) it’s as if they have to vent their anger to make themselves better about themselves,.and the situation that they are unhappy with…Absolute comedy gold to the rest of us …to which they are totally and utterly oblivious to btw which makes it even funnier as they keep digging.
We have Frangers with one of his many obsessions,.we have the One trick pony poster, (every post Brexit related)…our mate Herr Kloss who would have Brexit as his specialist subject if he was on Mastermind …,.and then the ‘piece de resistance’ Rodders, in all this, the creme de la menthe (yeh I know it’s ‘creme’) of bitter remoaners, the new kid on the block Mr Wacky Wackou…
The Trucknet 3 Brexit Stooges…any more contenders anybody?
In the meantime I’ll just continue to periodically poke these 3 bears with a stick,.and observe the forthcoming petulance with great amusement and wonder.
I thank you.
Taking tmcasset`s advice again, may I take the liberty of editing the above post to take away all comments that are not about Brexit?

Priceless.

Just the frogs being what they have always been: any excuse to be an ■■■■■■■■. Oh look, it’s the British holiday season starting let’s ■■■■ it up by not sending over enough staff and then invent some lie about the channel tunnel.
Yes I do blame the British, you have to be really thick to want to go to that stinking ■■■■■■■■ in the first place and imagining that the frogs wouldn’t seize the opportunity proves it.

Yep, the UK/Aus deal is good for Aus. Not so good for the UK.
And because your family are avoiding the travel restrictions by getting Eire passports doesnt mean that others arent affected of course.
But so long as “you`re alright Jack”.

Care to address the Brexit issues?
Maybe
tmcassett:
Yeah but virtually none of the things you’ve written above are because of Brexit so not really sure the relevance.
is only for others, and you consider yourself above such mundane things as sticking to the topic?

Today, because of Brexit, our kids have lost the right to travel freely in the EU.
They have lost the right to work there.
They won`t have their educational achievements recognised as before.

In Dover how many Passport booths are there? And where are they situated? (How much off road queuing area?)
(They currently need to deal with each occupant of every vehicle. Soon they will be needing to get every passenger out for fingerprints.) And more rules (for 3rd countries like the UK) are on the way
How many ferry company ticket booths? Where are they, and where is their off road queuing area?
(They only need to see the reg number of vehicle and do a head count.)
Now, who is to blame for the current issues?
Dover has had 6 years to try to get things sorted…well, sort of, since no-one knew what would actually be the deal for ages.
Has there been any attempt to deal with the ongoing situation? For months we have had recurring uses of Operation Brock, it has been plain that the summer and tourist traffic will make things worse. What has been done?
The finger pointing at the “foreign devils” is just another symptom of the Brexiteer “everyone is to blame except us” exceptionalist mentality.
Flip-flopping from “we have control now” to “they are to blame, not us”, and “totally unforseeable” to “they always do this to us”!

Because we chose to leave the EU, we are now expected to do more checks to enter the EU than before, when we were members with free movement. They have control of their borders.
So, should the French spend more money because of a domestic UK political decision?
How do you feel about the UK spending tax-payer`s money to pay for a French domestic issue?

Maybe we should look back to see how we managed before we were involved with them as a group for all those years.
A few quid spent to counteract the petulant French is worth it imo, the amount would be a fraction of what we spent for membership.
(Please don’t send me massaged stats or links to refute that point, I ain’t interested…newsflash the UK being a member of the EU is history…deal with it.

About as well thought out as any posts then.

It also advocates a system of government based on the collective.
