I’m confident we can hit 200 pages

Has Brexit “happened”…Well, no it hasnt. The vote happened 6 years ago, Brexit still hasn
t happened, as anyone taking the trouble to actually read some of the posts above* will have known
I’d best tell my company in that case so that they can take back all the extra money and bonuses they’ve paid me in the last 18 months, bit gutted but guess it was good while it lasted.

Discussion or just your one man mission to find anything you perceive as wrong and can’t wait to post a link to it? If you actually posted anything resembling balance I could take you more serious (well actually I probably couldn’t but hey ho)

Balanced? Just like you?
50% of your posts are pro-Brexit, and 50% are anti-Brexit are they?
Have you got even the faintest inkling of how debates or discussions work?
Who do you take seriously then I wonder? Who do you perceive as having a balanced view on this subject?

You have mentioned this before.
How do you attribute your rise to Brexit? Other countries, in the EU and elsewhere are giving truck drivers pay rises because of a widespread shortage. That can`t be due to Brexit.
And, if your payrise is due to Brexit, do you think that any and all other Brexit effects are a price worth paying for tmcassett to get a few more quid at the moment?

In the news it seems that we in the UK are going to have higher inflation than other leading economies…
A Brexit win.
Supermarkets are offering a narrower range of products. So less time dithering over what to buy.
Brexit win.
Mortgage interest rates to rise more in the UK than elsewhere. More cash for banks.
Brexit win.
UK oil companies make record profits.
Brexit win.
There fixed it for ya.

Also a win for those of us with a large savings pot that since the crash of 2008 have had very very little interest on our savings.
Yes it’s getting wiped out with inflation ghat was caused by the energy price boom caused…wait for it…the Ukrainian/Russia war, not Brexit.

Inflation Eurozone 8.6%
Inflation UK 9.6%
Brexit or not? The UK leaps ahead.
Whatever it is I`m sure that the lower paid amongst our fellow citizens will rejoice, that the fat cats are getting fatter.
Those UK youngsters looking to buy homes for their families, will be gladdened to hear you crowing from on top of your dung heap.

Like the 70’s an energy price hike caused by making us pay as much for our own oil and gas as the Germans and French pay for it.
Also now + carbon tax at £78 per tonne + VAT at over 2kgs of carbon per litre.
^ He is really not worth arguing with.
You guys remember Anna Soubry and Chuka Umunna the guys that made up a new party to stop brexit.
Seems they given up being a MP now .

Actually they are lol.
Because their wages have shot up. Sure inflation may make them a bit bitter but that’s a global issue.
I worked at a company for 2 years and 90% of the drivers were Romainan. the wages were about £9.50 an hour maybe something like 300 a week.
The manager told me the wages will not go up because he can get romainians who will drive for that wage. He was a British guy and told me straight up you have the experience if you wanted to go somewhere else because he does not need to pay more.
And before that in prob 2010 to 2013 I was doing a warehouse job. 60-70% of the workforce was prob a mix between Polish and Romainan. It was min wage work.
Now the wages on both those jobs have gone up significantly and they are having to hire more british workers.
As someone who has lived on the breadline and has recently done the lowest of low paid jobs and warehouse work I can tell you being in the EU (From my perspective) ■■■■■ over a signiciant amount of low paid guys/unskilled.
It was the same in the building game. Day rates were crap because they could just pay EE guys £50 a day. They did not even have to phone around they literally had their pick of EE guys who would sit outside Wickes/Homebase waiting for someone to give them work.
This is one of the Wickes I was on about.
Police would come and ocassionaly clear them off but that’s about it.
Sometimes you’d have like 30+ people there.

The propaganda you read might tell you that the war is the cause of the energy price boom… the truth is
the high prices people are paying here are mostly a feature of the collapse in value of the pound.
oil is priced in dollars and a barrel of oil is not particularly high right now, its only $80 - look at this chart tradingview.com/x/2aKooIaT/ and you can clearly see that oil hit an all time high of $140 in 2008 and was over $100 for most of 2011 - 2015
and yet the price at the pump didnt go over £1.40 back then. whatever could have changed?
Natural Gas is similar, yes its up 500% this year, but its been higher before tradingview.com/x/iHzkeILx/
Now take a look at this one - GBP/USD tradingview.com/x/rQW85OC6/
pay particular attention to the yellow line, the support and resistance. you can see that before 2016 a pound was always worth at least $1.40, and would often go higher. after 2016, a pound is never worth more that $1.40 and is often going lower
think on that while you celebrate the pay rises that you are enjoying

But inflation is a worldwide problem;
Venezuela, at 1198.0%
- Sudan, at 340.0%
- Lebanon, at 201.0%
- Syria, at 139.0%
- Suriname, at 63.3%
- Zimbabwe, at 60.7%
- Argentina, at 51.2%
- Turkey, at 36.1%
I somehow cannot see Brexit affecting any of those.
Now lets take a look at developed countries.
USA 9.1%
Spain 10.8%
Ireland 9.1%
Belgium 9.62
Iceland 9.9%
Slovenia 11%
Greece 12.1%
Lithuania 21%
There is more Inflation Rate - Countries - List | Europe Dated June 2022 (Thought id throw in a link for you )
Its a worldwide problem nothing to do with Brexit so stop grasping at straws and twisting the truth to suit your agenda because frankly your twisting of the truth is as dishonest as Rees-Mogg in front of a camera.

So why are Americans paying high pump prices as well? https://ycharts.com/indicators/us_gas_price#:~:text=US%20Retail%20Gas%20Price%20is%20at%20a%20current%20level%20of,33.17%25%20from%20one%20year%20ago.
$4.30 per gallon today (average) peaking in June at over $5 per gallon.
Its not caused by the high oil prices but the ability to refine the oil as some refineries closed down during the pandemic due to low demand.
“Adjusting for inflation, the US gasoline average is still approximately 8 percent below June 2008 highs of about $5.41 a gallon, according to US Energy Department figures.”
And just think…if we hadnt had the wage increases how much poorer would we have been right now??

To be honest Im expecting some links to some vague website showing that the UK is in the worst state of all the worlds contries because blah blah blah. You get my drift.
When we were full members of the EU many used to look down on poorer “southern EU” economies.
We now hear cheering because we might be slightly not as bad as them.
The UK and some EU countries do currently have similar inflation rates. In the past we considered ourselves above them.
We might still be in front in some cases but not as far as we once were.
And the forecast isn`t good.
UK inflation is set to rise higher and UK GDP is set to fall to 0.5%…this awful figure means that any inflation we do have, whatever it`s level will have a much worse effect on domestic prices than otherwise.

I dont disagree with you BUT the point I am making is that our high inflation is in line with other western economies. Bugger all to do with Brexit.
You like me are old enough to remember other periods of time when we had high inflation.
8% in 1990
17.97% in 1980
24.21% in 1975
What have all 3 dates have in common? I will help you out…WE WERE INSIDE THE EEC (pre EU for our younger readers)

ye but those statistics do not help his point.
