Your holiday will comes under the 90 / 180 days rule.
If you try moving to Spain, or any other EU country to take up residency and getting employment then that is the right that has been given away.

He`s still on about Napoleon!
That’s all well and good, but the bloody Romans are to blame for kicking off all the ag.
I mean ,.what have the Romans ever done for us??
Eh ? Eh?

The authorities also now have the right to demand additional documents:
"Proof of financial means
At the request of the relevant authorities, proof of sufficient financial means for the intended stay or the ability to legally obtain such means must be provided.
In 2022, the minimum amount required is 100 euros per person per day. In any case, and regardless of the number of days of stay, a minimum amount of 900 euros or its equivalent in foreign currency will be required.
Financial means can be accredited by presenting cash, traveller’s cheques, credit cards accompanied by a statement from the bank account, an up-to-date bank statement or any other means that accredits the amount available as credit on the card or bank account. "

Going with your family? Wife and 3 kids for 14 days? You could be asked to show a bank statement, or similar, showing 7,000 euros credit.
And check your passport dates. They need to be less than 10yrs from issue on entry, and have at least 3months left, at time of return to the UK.

Wait, what, you mean we can still leave this country and go to Europe? I thought we voted to put a stop to that with Brexit and weren’t allowed to do that anymore.

Just because you could doesn’t mean you will. I’ve seen this headline and article written in a couple of news sources recently, predominantly aimed at Spain and proving you have 85 euros a day and accommodation, classic scaremongering again from the MSM and anyone desperate to find anything negative they can possibly use.
I’ve been a regular visitor to the USA over the last 10-15 years and it is no different there in terms of stuff you “could” be asked for and to prove at border control. The reality is you need the ESTA vista (takes a few mins online to fill out before you go) and proof of stay/departure date. This usually involves the border control agent asking you for the address you are staying and what date you are planning to leave the country. Usually a 2 minute conversation and on your way you go - no standing there pulling out 25 pages of documentation/statements etc and doing a power-point presentation!

That sounds like an excellent analysis of this thread .

Still waiting, after numerous invitations, for a list of Brexit positives we`ve had?
Rees-Mogg the Brexit Minister would probably welcome your input.
I await the predictions of what will happen 50 years from now, from those who dont trust experts, and can
t predict what is happening tomorrow.
We all need a laugh.

My experience suggests the opposite; it’s the ‘Ingerlish’ that dislike the ‘Frogs’, I’ve never encountered anything but friendship in France
This. To be honest most couldn’t give two hoots about us and I can’t say I blame them.

Frangers mate,.getting into a serious debate with you on this stuff would be like me debating Astronomy with Prof Brian Cox.
You appear to have a severe preoccupation with it all,.so I fear I’d be no match.
All I will say regarding positives on my part…speaking for myself and my wife,.we have had more than 3 to 4 pay raises since Brexit, .where as in the same previous periods before, it was the grand total of Jack Sh every year.
Now if I was so bold as to claim Brexit was the reason for this, you would no doubt have a vast number of negative links in your portfolio to refute it, so suffice to say speaking for myself I feel I/we personally have benefited since the vote…all those years ago.
So in the meantime I’ll continue to view this thread with amazement and amusement observing the perpetual ‘‘P’’ word that you love among you lot.
As I said…I’ll continue to ‘poke the bear’’ for as long as it irritates you and your remoaner posse.

No-one knows what will happen or what things will look like in 1, 5, 10 or 50 years time and what the effect of Brexit will be good or bad. It’s happened so what’s the point in trying to find every doom laden link you can to try and justify to yourself that it was wrong.
Plus, despite always claiming you are only posting things Brexit related in the “Brexit thread” for the purpose of “discussion”, you conveniently seem to continually ignore something that may be of relevance to truck drivers on a truck driving forum and that is increases in drivers wages in the last 18 months.

Yeah, pretty much this.
The same people who spent decades raging about unelected bureaucrats in Brussels deciding how this country is run are now quite happy for 160,000 unelected, unqualified no marks to pick out a new Prime Minister.
Brexit was only about saving the UK from the EU tax declaration laws. The UK being responsible for 8 out of the top 12 tax havens in the world.
Hiding and washing the dodgy Russian money through the London laundromat.
To improve everyone’s lot in the UK we need to get rid of FPTP - And bring in a proper system of proportional representation.
Dump the Lords .
Rid of the bloody monarchy .
Get a written constitution .

Yeah but I think my 14 days will be ok, just the same as last year and the previous 22 years since he bought his house and we have been visiting! (except for the 2 covid years!)

7000? Yep no problem there thanks to Brexit and the financial boost to my wages that came with it. Yes a Brexit bonus that you keep asking for!

Could you use the whole of my post please.
The point is that your holiday of 14 days is now part of the 90/180 days rule.
The problem is for anyone wishing to live and work permanently in an EU country.

There are some here who have convinced themselves that “the French” are making things difficult, deliberately and for no reason.
Wait until they find out about the “Attestation d’Accueil”…
This is French law, and COULD be applied right now to ANYONE visiting France from a third country, yes that includes GB, even though we are “special”. If the French were truly determined to bugger things up, it would be that easy. They could simply ask every visitor at entry for their “Attestation”, and turn back those who do not have one. (ie EVERYONE!).
In short. If you are going to France to stay with friends or family, the people you are visiting must go to the local town hall and fill out a lengthy form, they must bring proof they they are home-owners etc, with details of the size of house, how many rooms etc. And the details of each visitor, DOB, passport number etc. This must be done BEFORE the visitors enter France.
Here is an article giving the details. This rule is not enforced… YET!

You are better off because of Brexit? (Maybe so*)
Because of a shortage of drivers you are being paid more?
There is a shortage of drivers in Poland, Germany, USA, too. They haven`t all exited the EU and are getting pay rises too.

Point clearly made.
The drama queens should note that our loss of freedom of movement, doesnt mean we are being banned from travel, and extra rules apply, but they won
t all be used every time. Wakou makes this point above
*Brexit is IMHO a generally bad thing for the UK.
The company where I have been working the past several years have been making more money because of Brexit.
I had a pay rise too.
Because of the Brexit problems trucks are now generally running out empty more than they were before. Less time wasted on paperwork issues and less fuel burned.
Importers are paying more now because fewer UK trucks are leaving the UK loaded, and looking for backloads, and EU hauliers aren`t so keen to come to the UK, so are putting rates up.
Our office staff numbers ahve been increased to deal with Brexit paper work, and our customers are paying for this.
And guess what? Consumers, are all paying extra to cover the extra money that importers are paying to my boss.
It is indeed an ill wind that blows no good at all.
Brexit doesnt mean that every single person will lose out, in every aspect of their life. Nothing (mostly) is that bad. But as a whole Brexit is a bad thing. In the paragraph above, I
ve said that my boss is better off. That is at the cost of increased retail prices for the goods he hauls into the UK. Good for him, but not good for the country.
Increased paperwork, duplication of rules, extra infrastructure, extra civil servants, are all costs that decrease the competitiveness of UK PLC. Madness.
And what isn`t good for the country as a whole will become a drag on all of us. A failing economy will depress wages for all of us.
And just to repeat, yes, some will be better off under the new Brexit we have.
Mostly not the companies making stuff, mostly not consumers buying stuff, but those multinationals who create nothing, but make money from the confusion of volatile markets.
Yep, there are some winners. Mostly not ordinary people though.
